O Come All Ye Faithful Celtic Woman fans to a Christmas Celebration! What a wonderful collection of songs for the holiday season. The girls have out done themselves in Angelic voices and perfect harmony to bring together all that will send your memories into overdrive. Who doesn't remember a warm fireplace and the smell of spiced apples or cookies being whipped up on a cold winter day? All these memories will come up to the surface with festive tunes of Christmas as Carol of the Bells or Ding Dong Merrily on High. Nothing can compare to Meav singing Silent Night or Lisa Kelly's The Christmas Song. The beautiful vocal arrangement of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas will simply warm your soul. Of course, the girls have to show you that they can sing any style song with the swing arrangement of Let It Snow! David Downes' masterful arranging and Celtic Woman's beautiful voices combine to give something for everyone on this Yule tide CD whether your tastes are traditional Irish, festive, religious, or swing! Free Music Review: Absolutely enchanting Hit: 5 Stars
I'm normally not a big fan of Christmas albums. Most Christmas albums to me sound redundant. Not too long ago I had discovered that Celtic WOman had put out a Christmas album. Being a big fan of Celtic Woman, I made plans to buy the cd. When I heard samples of the cd today, I knew I had to buy it right away. "A Christmas Celebration" is a beautiful collection of traditional Christmas caroles with a couple of orginal tunes from producer David Downes. All of the songs, traditional and new, are beautiful. Almost two years since their first album came out, the women still sounds amazing. Orla and Chloe's vocals has certainly gotten stronger since the first album. I especially loved "O Holy Night" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". It would be hard pressed to find anyone who didn't enjoy this collection other than snobby music critics who have accused CW of making schmaltzy music. The cashier at the store where I bought the cd even said that he enjoys the music. "A Christmas Celebration" is a must have for Celtic Woman fans as well as for Christmas music lovers.
Free Music Review: Beautiful Christmas music! Hit: 5 Stars
Critics of Celtic Woman will point out that it really isn't Celtic music--it's just more pop/classical music that doesn't have any real musical value. Well, I happen to be a big Celtic Woman fan since I heard them the first time, but let's assume every bit of that is true. This album is still terrific, and here's why...
This is Christmas music--nothing more and nothing less. There is no pretention of Celtic music per se, just gorgeous voices singing beautiful carols that we all love. I dare you to find a vocal Christmas album that sounds this beautiful and crisp. That's not to say I don't enjoy listening to Bing Crosby or Perry Como, but the soothing quality of this music is hard to top. The only track that tackles the pop culture of Christmas music is the bonus track "Let it Snow!" saved for the very end.
You can knock the group if you want, but if you don't like this album it's because you don't like Christmas music!
Free Music Review: A Must Have Addition For Your Christmas Music Collection Hit: 5 Stars
This is a delightful collection of Christmas music. It is not specifically a Christian collection, but there are plenty of Christian carols, and the closest thing to a Santa Claus song is "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)". I don't mind classics like "White Christmas" or "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" or "Let It Snow", but I can do with "Rudolph" and "Frosty" and "Here Comes Santa Claus", and this project is without those songs. Hallelujah!
There is not a bad selection on this collection. It is in second place of my "Must Have" Christmas projects, behind Amy Shreve's. The harmonies are absolutely delightful, and Meav Ni Mhaolchatha's fiddle is exceptional.
The best selections (besides all) are "O Holy Night", "Ding Dong Merrily On High", "Carol Of The Bells", "O Come All Ye Faithful", and the awesome rendition of "The Little Drummer Boy".

I love Christmas!!! and I love Christmas albums!! Don't argue with me on that one. If you do, you are staring a roundhouse kick in your face. Do you want that with the holidays approaching? I didn't think so, so back off. What's that? Did you just roll your eyes at me? Oh, it's on now at a level you don't understand. The barrage is coming!!
I like this CD a lot. These women are really good singers. I love christmas music!! Are you arguing with me again? That's it, roundhouse!!
I really like the version of little drummer boy on this album. That and "do you hear what I hear are my favorite christmas songs" You know what I hear? I hear you poppin off again!! The people's elbow is warming up in the garage and you are about to get a piece of it.
This CD is really good.
