A lushly produced presentation of interrelated songs that tell a story, Chacona is one of those recordings in which something new seems to emerge every time one listens. Phenomenal intrumentation, beautiful vocals, and emotional performances make Chacona a joy. I only wish I understood Spanish!Free Music Review: Amazing!

Having seen Ex Umbris perform the works on this incredible recording in concert about a year before the CD came out, I waited in eager anticipation for its release. It was worth the wait! The production is great, the engineering fine, and the performances beyond superlatives. Joined by a wonderful selection of guests (including the incredible voice of Nell Snaidas), this is one CD you won't want to pass up. In a word: amazing.
