Free Music Review: Another very good, but derivative, indie rock album - close to classic - you'll probably like this a lot - 4.5 stars

Chad Vangaalen's "Infiniheart" is another great, albeit derivative, indie rock album. It sounds essentially like electronic-influenced indie rock with a weird-but likable lead singer. He's pretty good in some of the songs, but sometimes he becomes a little questionable (towards the end mostly - see "Traffic" for an example). The musicianship is very tight and the production is crystal clear. It's certainly inspired and relatively creative. The first track starts things off very well, but it kind've falls apart afterwards. Every song is good, don't get me wrong, but it could've been better. The lyrics are easy to listen to, and they're mostly pretty fun to pay attention to. It comes close to being a classic, but it seems too derivative and the album tends to be merely "good". Overall, however, indie rock fans will still love this. If you liked this album then chances are you'll also like Chin Up Chin Up's "Chin Up Chin Up" as well as Moggs' "The White Belt Is Not Enough". Highly recommended!
