Free Music Notes for ClassiKhanFree Music Review: CHAKA PAVING THE WAY Hit: 5 Stars
First - I love this CD and would give it 10 stars if Amazon had them. I was raised with her music and my own daughter loves her also.
Second - in response to the reviewer who compares Chaka to Ashanti! You can not compare an artist like Chaka, who has recorded pop, r&b, jazz, fusion, and standards; and who has been a constant on the charts for more than 25 years; with a mostly electronically enhanced child-like image that has the tasteless nerve to wear what amounts to an enhanced bra on her Christmas CD! It's pure class over a simple piece of --s.
In a world with disposable music I'll take Chaka, Anita, Regina, and Barbra over Ashanti and her body bearing clones any day!
Free Music Review: Talent as big as all outdoors! Hit: 5 Stars
A brave, be true to yourself album from one of the most interesting singers working today. After a brilliant funk workout on Prince's label, this CD finds Khan reworking some jazz standards, some film themes and one original composition and taking full possession of each one. Bold enough to record signature songs by the likes of Patsy Cline ("Crazy"), Lulu ("To Sir With Love") and Shirley Bassey ("Diamonds Are Forever" and "Goldfinger"), Khan excells at each one. "Hazel's Hips" alone is worth the price of this disc. If you want wonderful interpretations of standards by a bold and striking singer, "ClassiKhan" is for you! Don't ever stop, Chaka. You're the greatest!

I have been waiting a long time for this to happen. I have been a big fan of CKs from the start. Her voice then and now has always moved me. When I first heard her sing I knew that she had something special. Back in the 90s she sang Afie on a talk show that Dionne Warwick was on and she blew me away. I was hoping that Afie was on this disk. Anyway this CD is a fine testament to the vocal talents of Chaka Khan. From beginning to end I love ClassiKhan. To Sir With Love and the 2 007 tracks are the best. I believe that 'I Believe' has Grammy written all over it. So if you are a fan of hers this is a must have.
Free Music Review: It's different, It's new and refreshing and it's Chaka Hit: 5 Stars
I have been a fan of Chaka's since she came on the scene in 1973. I was a little upset when I heard she was doing a cd of standards because I wanted so much to hear the wails and the outstanding background vocals she is capable of producing. However, after one listen to this CD, I realized Chaka can sing anything. Crazy, Hazel Hips, Teach Me Tonight, Round Midnight and the touching I Believe are my favorites. I'm not going to compare, Chaka to Anita,Regina or any other artist. Chaka does Chaka and no one can deny that Chaka vocal skills are amazing.
Free Music Review: Chaka sounds better than EVER!! Hit: 5 Stars
I always thought Chaka was such a great singer, but she's singing far better than I have ever heard! OMG, I almost passed out! She sounds so comfortable and confident, her voice goes from smoky to clear, from deep to high. She can be so tender like a caring mother, and so powerful like fireworks riding on a roller coaster! I can't believe after 30 years, she sounds much stronger and totally in control of her voice.
I was not a big fan of this type of music, but now I am. Thank you Chaka, keep singing!
