Free Music Notes for Funk ThisFree Music Review: CHAKA meets THE TIME...!!! Hit: 5 Stars
This album is FUNKALICIOUS - THICK, BASSY and RAW.
Putting the mighty CHAKA KHAN in FLYTE TYME Studios with the legendary JIMMY JAM & TERRY LEWIS payed off big time! Jimmy and Terry in turn reunited with their TIME guitarist JESSE JOHNSON on 3 vital tracks - "Castles Made of Sand", "Foolish Fool" - with Jesse's bluesy guitar floating thru both while channeling Hendrix, and the stomping remake of former boss PRINCE's epic "Sign O' The Times" - totally reinventing the song.
"Back In The Day", the "Pack'd My Bag/You Got The Love" 1-2 punch and "Superlife" are all fierce!
Great, great album, easily one of the best of 2007 and of CHAKA's career, IMHO... ;-)

If you are a Lover of REAL Soul music then I suggest you buy "Funk This". Whether you're in your car, house or on the job you'll want to play the entire CD from begining to end. The "Queen of Funk" Chaka Khan proves that a Seasoned Diva can take a break from mainstream recording projects and return giving you all she's got..
My Favorite tracks at first listen are "Angel" ..."Foolish Fool".."Pack'd My bags/You got the Love"..."Hail to the Wrong".."Back in the day"...
Every track is uniqe and stands on its own. Lady C.K.'s Soulful Vocal delivery on every cut is what grabs you...
This CD is Funky & Hot...
Free Music Review: A Soul Master Returns: One of her best albums Hit: 5 Stars
I purchased her first album in high-school back in the day, right about the time Stevie Wonder wrote one of her
first hits with Rufus. This is by far some her best work. Tracks" Will you Love me? and Disrespectul are instant
R and B Classics. We should all be thankfull that we are still able to enjoy the work of this very impressive artist.
Anyone that complains about this album, needs to clean out their ears, put down the ipods and listen to this
great album on a REAL STEREO with REAL Speakers.
I put this in CHAKA KHAN'S Top 5 albums.
R & B is here to Stay.
Free Music Review: What a surprise! Hit: 5 Stars
I was on my way to work and heard "Angel" on the radio. I was immediately drawn into the song and wondered who was singing. As I listened further there was no need to guess. I thought to myself that Chaka Khan is back. She blew this song out the box. As soon as I got off work I bought the CD and have not stopped listenng to it! It is truly one of her best songs since "Through the Fire". Chaka you are beautiful and have a bonafide hit.
Free Music Review: Can't Get Any Funkier than this..... Hit: 5 Stars
Chaka comes back on the scene after ten years and it is as if she hasn't missed a beat. Chaka does the dayum thang with this soothing and must listen to CD. She is a refresher for all those who has wished for such music. I have always loved Chaka and she has done what she is known for doing singing to the high heavens and gracing us with such a terrific melody of songs. Kudos to Ms. Khan, her associates, writers, and producers.
