I loved the movie when it was first released several years ago -- and I love this music.
Granted, the music reaches its utmost eminence when you can summon in your mind the scenes of driven men who are so focused on a goal... a gold medal.
However, even if you have never had the good fortune of seeing this wonderful move the music is a work in excellence in its own right!

Of the two that say "compilation," the import is a better deal--a few dollars less for exactly the same material. We recently heard one of the songs from the old movie Chariots of Fire (which we haven't seen or heard in years) and my husband really liked it so I bought the CD for him for his birthday. It's a very good easy listening piece and brings back images from the movie to your mind. We really enjoy it - especially at full volume! Without yet being familiar to this soundtrack, I couldn't believe John Williams' phenomenal "Raiders of the Lost Ark" had been beaten at the Oscars, well, it did and justifiably so. Vangelis work remains fresh no matter how many hundreds of times I've listened to it. The movie was pretty good but without its music it would be just another forgotten period piece.Free Music Review: Great Album

I love having this original soundtrack in CD form. I have the record as well. The CD quality is just as good as the record. Was very happy to know Amazon had it because I searched all over to find someone who had this soundtrack on CD. I have always felt the music on this album was very fitting for the life of Eric Liddell.
