Free Music Review: Prelude: The Best of Charlotte Church
Hit: 5 Stars

Prelude takes as through a journey which will chronicle the career of Charlotte from the beginning with her Classic Voice of an Angel to the more mature Enchantment. She amazed the world as a 12-year-old with a voice which could sing to huge crowds without the aid of amplifiers. She continued this with her self-titled album which contained an even better selection of songs. Her Christmasy 3rd album continued to delight fans everywhere.

The highlight of career so far is highlighted on her 4th album Enchantment where she reprises the duet "The Prayer" with Josh Groban, another brilliant youngster, from their performance at the closing ceremonies of the Winter Games. She even sings the famous Simon and Garfunkle song, "Bridge Over Troubled Water" as an extra track in these career highlights.

This album is a great opportunity for you to hear what the rest of the world has been listening to the last 4 years. A talent like Charlotte comes along once in a lifetime and here is your opportunity to enjoy her best. You won't be dissapointed with this classic.

Free Music Review: Heavenly
Hit: 5 Stars

This is absolutely heavenly. Sure, they could have chosen some better songs (where's Carrickfergus? or O Mio Babbino Caro?) but still heavenly. This is a great intro to Charlotte's music. To the opera fanatics who pick on her: This is not an opera album, nor is it meant to be judged against the likes of Maria Callas and Renee Fleming. If it wasn't for Charlotte, I wouldn't listen to opera. I had no idea how great opera could be until Charlotte. I now listen to Maria Callas! You're turning away potential opera newbies by forcing them away from this. Do you know how many people now like opera thanks to Charlotte? If it wasn't for her a lot of people wouldn't know who Maria Callas is (like me). Like it or not, she has a GORGEOUS voice. Yes, she needs to find a new voice teacher. But if she moves away from classical, will you still pick on her? I love Charlotte, and I also love Maria Callas. They're two different types of singers. One day, you might thank Charlotte for all the new people she has introduced to the realm of classical singing, like myself.

Free Music Review: In the Spring-time of Youth
Hit: 5 Stars

Divinely blessed, Charlotte Church inspires young vocalists like myself. She exhibits an angelic quality of tone and resonance commonly attributed to older, more experienced operatic singers like Maria Callas and Sarah Brightman.

Although criticized for her airy tones, this infamous 17-year-old Welsh soprano daintily spins "The Flower Duet," and delivers heart-wrenching renditions of "Pie Jesu," "Ave Maria," "Amazing Grace," and other time-honored pieces. Her ventures in Broadway, contemporary and Gaelic selections likewise reflect her classical training. Her ability to blend vocally with trained professionals such as Josh Groban ("The Prayer") and Billy Gilman ("Dream A Dream") augments her individual musical interpretation.

Prelude reveals Charlotte's remarkable stylistic flexibility and appeals to any lover of music. Church revives the simple beauty of singing in a pop-desensitized teenage culture, rising above the criticisms of traditional classical audiences, and reminding the world that "It's the Heart that Matters Most."

Free Music Review: "PRELUDE" !!!
Hit: 5 Stars

With 90% + of today's music being boring and in most cases just a lot of noise, it was certainly refreshing to hear a voice as clear and clean as Charlotte Church's. She demonstrates in Prelude that she can venture into virtually any genre and sing as if she belongs there. There are very few who are that gifted.

As she gets older, she will be able to handle songs like Habanera better, however, for a 16-year-old girl, her rendition will surprise you.

The array of songs presented as her best of is a remakable smorgasboard of tunes that have become classics and it is fitting that an artist who has become a classic in her own right, is performing them. As for the album being titled, "Prelude", I would suspect that it is a prelude to Charlotte's own television show. That would certainly be in order for someone so accomplished.

Free Music Review: An Excellent Addition to Any Collection
Hit: 5 Stars

One of her best CD's to date. This combines all of her previous excellent songs plus four new ones on one CD.
At 17, Charlotte Church has already released five albums, including this, a best of collection.
The selection of songs are simply wonderful. They range from the astounding 'Pie Jesu', to the ballad 'Just Wave Hello', to a cover version of Simon and Garfunkle's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'.
Also included is 'It's the Heart That Matters Most' which is close to a soft rock/pop ballad.
Two duets are also included, 'Dream a Dream' with Billy Gilman, and 'The Prayer' with Josh Groban (a studio version of the song performed by them at the 9/11 1-year memorial).

An excellent CD and a must add to any classical collection.
