Free Music Review: The Pieces of Me Remix is Awesome!

This whole CD rocks but in my humble opinion the best song on the CD is the David Garcia and High Spies Remix of Ashlee Simpsons "Pieces of Me." If you liked this song before, you are sure to like the remix. If you didn't like this song before, you might like the remix because it will really get the party started. Another reason to buy this CD is because it includes the classic song "Take It Off," by The Donna's. Even if you aren't a big fan of The Donna's you are sure to have heard this song which has been used in commercials and in various televisin programs. The CD is chocked full of songs from women who rock. Dido, Vanessa Carlton and Liz Phair are just a few of the artists featured on this compilation. The CD will remind you of a rocked out Lillith Fair with the all girl line up. There was one thing about this CD that I found a little odd-not many women of other races. "Charmed" is a show that many different women enjoy. So it would have been nice if they would have put "Wicked Wisdom" Jada Pinkett's rock group, Kelis, Rhian Benson, Res or a few more women of color on the soundtrack.

This follow-up collection of "music from and inspired by" the WB network's successful teen witch-with-a-family-twist series offers up a compelling, distaff spin on the first volume's contemporary mix of pop and rock, gathering together 11 all-female tracks, an eclectic mix that spans the diversity of The Donnas' rousing rock opener "Take It Off" and a beat-savvy remix of Broadway-cum-Vegas diva Sarah Brightman's "Free."
