Free Music Notes for Cheetah Girls 2Free Music Review: Great mix of songs Hit: 5 Stars
I usually don't like listening to my kids music, but I really enjoy this CD
Free Music Review: Pop with claws Hit: 4 Stars
The Cheetah Girls (Raven-Symone as Galleria, Adrienne Bailon as Chanel, Sabrina Bryan as Dorinda and Kiely Williams as Aquanette) are back with another album that is filled with girlpower anthems and upbeat positivity, giving you somewhat of a Spice Girls feel when it comes and more than enough encouragement to be yourself.
The album is entirely pop flavored with a little Latin thrown into it every now and then, reminding you that it is actually the soundtrack of their second movie where they strut their stuff in the streets of Barcelona.
I haven't actually seen the movie, but I own both their first album and their Christmas album, so when this one came out I just bought it, knowing that I, as a pop junkie, wouldn't be disappointed. Of course, there are better artists and singers out there, but I still find it a feel-good album with an even better message. Plus, it's the perfect music to dance to and sing along with.
The album jump-starts with 'The Party's Just Begun' and 'Strut', just the right tracks to start off the tracklist with. They're definitely dance worthy and the 'Cheetah' attitude is ever present. Their voices are also showcased, especially in the first song where they go a little old school and do a little acapella breakdown, followed by the perfectly timed dance breakdown.
'Dance With Me' is the third track and the Cheetah Girls make way for Drew Seeley and Belinda, who also represent two characters in the second movie. It's also an upbeat song where pop, some r&b and a little Latin all get together.
'Why Wait' is the song that follows and is sung entirely by Belinda. This song is more rock influenced and therefore sounds just a little different than the others songs on the album, 'Do Your Own Thing' by Raven-Symone, track no. 6, excluded.
Track 5 is, again, one that features Belinda, though Cheetah Girl Adrienne joins her this time for a Spanish ballad, that almost sounds like a lullaby, 'A La Nanita Nana'. Their two voices sound beautiful together, almost magical if you listen to this song as a lullaby, although it might take getting used to.
I already mentioned the sixth track, 'Do Your Own Thing', the first of three solo songs by Raven-Symone, something that is understanding since she has one of the better voices, together with Adrienne Bailon (3lw).
In 'It's Over' the Cheetah Girls slow it down together for the first time, though Raven and Adrienne sing most of it, and their voices do sound really good together.
'Step Up' follows and in this song all of the Cheetah Girls step up again to sing, their vocals blending flawlessy in the chorus. It's a song that falls into the same category as 'The Party's Just Begun' and 'Strut'. Another dance breakdown is incorporated into the song, together with another vocal one. They are my favorites because it's there that the vocals reach their tops and the energy gets the highest, just as in 'Amigas Cheetas' a high energy and latin inspired track.
'Cherish The Moment' takes it down a couple of notches from there, though it isn't an actual ballad. It somewhat has the sound of a gospel song.
'Cheetah Sister' is the last song the Cheetah Girls sing together. The song was also on their very first album, but they remixed it to add more of a Latin feel to it, but the message is the same.
The song is finished off with 'Everyone's A Star' and 'It's Gonna Be Alright', two of the total three songs that are sung by Raven-Symone. The first is an extremely catchy song and the second is probably the most r&b inspired song on the album thanks to the chorus and one of the songs where Raven steps up with the vocals and you can really hear how good she can sing, although it isn't my favorite. I actually don't have a favorite song because this is one of those CDs where you don't have to skip a single track, if you're a pop lover like me that is.
It might just be their best album yet. :)
Free Music Review: Cheetahs Go Totally AWESOME!!-- When Did this 1st Start?? Hit: 4 Stars
The Cheetah Girls... Where to start... Ah 2003!
"The Cheetah Girls" created in 2003 by the hit book series for children. The movie followed 4 New York Girls: Galleria, Aqua, Dorinda, and Channel. Different worlds collide in this "Cheetah-licous" family.
Galleria (Raven Symone) is the leader, decision-maker, and excutive producer of the cheetah girls. She seems to have a lot of drama in her life due to the "Cheetah Girls" are pratically her life.
Channel (Adrian Baylon- from R&B group 3LW) is Galleria's 2nd bannana like Chelsea in That's So Raven. She is the second lead singer in the group. She stands up for Aqua & Do as well as Galleria. She is proud of her heritage/culture as well as her mom being a model.
Dorinda (Sabrina Bryan)- is (no offenise) the only white person in the group. Even though she is different in race, her character kind of stands out. A foster child, but dance mostly in the hip-hop culture (Sabrina does dance professionally in real life- DVD of BYou.) She may feel bad of not finding her parents, but her Cheetah Sisters are always family!
Aqua (Keely Willams- R&B group: 3LW)- the Texas spirited person who is the brains and fashion gal of the group. She has a sense of humor, loves tabascco sauce, and is grossed out by New York City's germs. She is a loveable character.
The Cheetah Girls was a huge sucess and had huge audience response. It was the highest rated Disney Channel Movie until, "High School Musical" in 2006. The Cheetah Girls are currently 2nd. Disney Channel Inc. thought of doing a Cheetah Girls Sequel, like High School Musical to earn more audience response and gross in $$. Disney Channel has deceied to promote the Cheetah Girls with a sequel called the Cheetah Girls 2: When In Spain (Promotional Title) and a 40-city Tour Concert with the star of "Hannah Montana" Miley Cyrus!
The Cheetah Girls 2 has some very upbeat songs with styles of Teen Urba, Hip-Hop, R&B, Latin, and Pop. "Strut", "The Party's Just Begun" and "Dance with Me" are some of the US's fav.
August 25th is the world premeire. The Disney Channel has also thought about doing a Cheetah Girls 3 for a theatrical release (meaning putting it into theaters). Raven probably will not be returning to the role. At First, she did want to do the cheetah girls because she said,
"I don't want to be known as Gallareia from the Cheetah Girls, I want to be known as Raven Symone for life"
Raven, 21, will be working on Zeon the 4th movie, Double Ductch, Everyone's A Hero, Adventure's in Babysitting, her 4th CD debut maybe in 2007.. and what about her culinary arts college degree she wanted to get?? Right After Cheetah Girls, she said bye, gotta lot of stuff to do...
The Cheetah Girls 3 will use Jessica Benson (Part of the trio of 3LW) instead of Raven because of her acting carrer. Co-Star Adriann Baylon is a little upset about Raven splitting up from the Cheetah Girls. She may leave too due to sadness. Raven already missed the Cheetah Girls Christmas CD and 2 Singles: "I Won't Say I'm in Love"/"If I Never Knew You"
Cheetah Girls are going strong.. Girl Power... Will they still go on... CHHEETAHHHSSSSS!!!
Free Music Review: Great for your little Cheetah Girl Hit: 4 Stars
After listening to the first Cheetah Girls soundtrack, I couldn't wait to purchase this one for my 9 year old daughter. The Cheetah Girl's songs have such a positive message for girls of all ages. The only thing better is hearing them in concert. All I have to say is WOW! These girls (minus Raven since she doesn't perform with them on stage) can really sing. They sound great live, so you know their voices aren't played with on their cds. My daughter and I listen to both Cheetah girls cd's in our van and it takes us right back to the concert.
Free Music Review: Too Old To Listen Hit: 4 Stars
Okay, I may be too old to listen to the Cheetah Girls, but their second soundtrack is great. There music is made for older audiences and some of it you can relate to. If you don't listen to anything please listen to "It's Gonna Be Alright" by Raven-Symone she co-wrote this song and is amazing.
