Free Music Notes for The Metropolitan HotelFree Music Review: One of the best of Chely Wright's recordings Hit: 5 Stars
I've always ranked Chely Wright a little higher than the typical C&W female singer. While there are numerous others out there with equal voices, most of them are crossover hit machines for their record labels with little else in mind. Ms Wright's previous recordings had much of the Nashville polish but the material and the performances were so much more appealing and honest. This current recording continues in the high standards adopted in the previous records with the added benefit of less Nashville production and more honesty. Ms Wright has never been afraid to be a country singer as opposed to being a country-oriented pop singer. I like the pared-down sound on the independent label recording. More, please.
Free Music Review: Love Chely Hit: 5 Stars
Chely Wright is my favorite female countryartist. I discovered her for just a half year ago, and she is defenetly better then Faith Hill and Shania Twain. I love her lyrics which comes from her heart. She often sings about broken hearted sad love and about ex boyfriends. The best lyric on this album is problably From The Bumper Of My S.U.V. She has very touching lerics.
Everytime I hear her albums my tears almost runs out...(Yeah,I now that they used to say that grown men dont cry, but I do everytime I listen to her).
I totally Love Chely Wright as an artist.
But this album isnt really a real countyalbum, its more like a singer & songwriter-album.
Free Music Review: Her best yet!! Hit: 5 Stars
Ironically, her best complete CD (and most radio friendly) is her first CD on an independent label. She has got to be one of the most underrated artists of our time. Though every song is great, 'I Got Him Ready For You' is the standout to me. I really hope it scores well at radio. If you like the new stuff from Sugarland, Julie Roberts, or country music from talented singer/songwriters who don't do just the same old same old. I highly recommend buying this album. Also, check out her other albums, especially Never Love You Enough. This CD is sure to not disappoint. BEST OF LUCK CHELY!!
Free Music Review: Another winner Hit: 5 Stars
Just when I start to worry that I'll never hear Chely Wright on the radio again, she delivers another from the heart. "Bumper of My SUV" is a true story and I get goosebumps every time I hear it because I know she has been there. I also love the sentimental "Back of a Bottom Drawer", "Southside of Lonesome" and her spunky cover of "C'est la Vie (You Never Can Tell)". This CD has such raw emotion that is rare in today's world of polished, cookie cutter music. Clearly an independent label was the way for her to go because this is truly an album for the fans. Thanks Chely!
Free Music Review: The Metropolitan Masterpiece :) Hit: 5 Stars
This Cd in my opinion, is her best to date. Chely dug deep and poured out her soul, and you can hear it all over the cd; for instance "Between A Mother and A Child", and "The River" are examples of just great songwriting; writing from personal experience just makes a great song and she does it so well, that combined with her one of a kind voice just tops it all of. This is such a great Cd you will definatly get your moneys worth.
