Free Music Notes for Chicago - Greatest Hits: 1982-1989Free Music Review: I LOVE IT Hit: 5 StarsTHE CD IS GREAT AND I'M HAPPY BECAUSE I BOUGHT IT AND IT WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION
Free Music Review: sappy ballads Hit: 1 StarsThe compositions, Rhythms and singin-style of Peter Cetera sound always the same. He is a typical sappy love song - singer who prefers the love ballads and cheesy love adventures.
it might have been a bit tedious and boring.
The problem is everywhere: If you are a Hardrock fan like bands Uriah Heep, Stevie Ray Vaughan, AC/DC, Rory Gallagher, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, your ears can't be familar with all these silly love songs. My ears cannot work like that.
there are two alternatives:
- if you are a hardrock fan. You like a mythological lyrics, you won't like Peter Cetera or Chicago. Keep your fingers away from this !!!
- if you are a sappy love song fan then please buy this cd !!!
Free Music Review: A Set Of Songs That Sound Alike Hit: 3 StarsWell - actually I do enjoy this CD while it is playing. But the person that would buy this CD should just by the Heart of Chicago set, or the Very Best of . . . or just buy Chicago 16 - 19. The problem is that their music really sounds too similar during this (the Foster) era, and the hits sound even more alike. But all of David Foster's stuff sounds alike. Check out Celine Dion and Michael Crawford's versions of "O Holy Night."
But, let's face it - whatever Chicago did in the 80s worked. And every successful pop artist (even most rock artists) figured out that the music-buying public wanted novelty, but not too many surprises. In the 80s Peter Cetera, and probably Danny Seraphine, took over the creative reins, and we got their own honest interpretation of the Chicago sound. I for one am glad that did whatever they needed to to stay in business.
The other good thing about this album is that my daughters and wife love it. I can't crank up much of Chicago's other stuff, or play it in the car.
But this GH collection always seemed a little unnecessary to me. I can't explain it, it just does. So I give it a 4 and not a 3. If you agree with other reviewers that you just love these songs, then by all means buy it.
But if you are a border line Chicago fan wanting to add to your collection, skip it and go for one of the others listed above.
Free Music Review: Cut Away! Hit: 2 StarsNewer edition of Chicago's Greatest Hits including newer version of WHAT KIND OF A MAN WOULD I BE from Chicago 19 cut away a number of 70s hits such as IF YOU LEAVE ME NOW. It was released as HEART OF CHICAGO now the title of 2 volumed compilation.
This compilation is exclusively for 80s Chicago fans but I have to say they are a lot more than that.
Free Music Review: Chicago is #1 Hit: 5 StarsThis group is the best. I am 27 years old and I listen to this cd every time I am in my car. They have the best songs. My eight year old son also sings to this cd with me.
