Free Music Review: And Now...Finally
Hit: 5 Stars

I am genuinely glad that this mythologized album of Chicago's has finally gotten to see the light of day. Understandably, the exclusion of "Get On This" (which is imo a GREAT track) has left some rattled, and they are not wrong in feeling this way. I am just thankful that some official incarnation of SOS is now commercially available. Is it their end-all, be-all? Probably not. But, is it wonderful music? A resounding YES! And, if nothing else, it is good to see a group trying to get genuine music out there, compared to the all-too-prevalent garbage that music executives try to market, demographically target, and shove down our "ungrateful" throats these days. Hats off to Chicago for releasing Stone of Sisyphus!
(btw, i'm a fan of Chicago from CTA to XXX, so just for the record, this is an opinion from one who loves their music across the board, and all over the place...)

Free Music Review: Straight and to the point!
Hit: 5 Stars

Greetings Chicago fans~
I'm not a music critic or columnist, so my review is not long or inundated with intriguing verbal analogies you may read from much more gifted sources. Sorry.
Let's get to the point:
Following Chicago since their "Beginnings" (pun intended) in 1967, I wasn't aware of the circumstances regarding label hassles releasing 'Sisyphus'. I took a chance on the purchase in 2008. All I can say is this: LONG OVERDUE!!!
This CD has barely been out of my cars' player since buying. In my opinion, it's one of the best Chicago releases ever. I never tire of listening.
If you appreciate the old-school philosophy of Chicago and what they intended their music and message to be, I strongly urge you to add this piece of musical entertainment to your collection. I think it's fantastic, and I believe you'll love it too. Enjoy!

Free Music Review: Don't Know What Warner Bros Was Thinking in '93
Hit: 5 Stars

Just received my copy of Chicago XXXII: Stone of Sisyphus on my doorstep today. Let's just say that it was worth waiting 15 years for this album. The opening track definitely shows Chicago's trademark horn sound. I don't know what the exec's at Warner Brothers A&R were thinking when they shelved this album, or if they were thinking at all, but just the throngs of Chicago fans waiting for this album should have been enough to put this album in stores. What ended up happening was stuff of folklore and urban legends. The album is out and I for one am glad. Can't wait for Chicago's next album of original work!! I just hope I don't have to wait another 15 years. After all none of us are Methuselah, and like Sisyphus, Methuselah only exists in mythology.

Free Music Review: The Long Awaited Return....
Hit: 5 Stars

First let me say that I became disenchanted with Chicago when the corporate people mandated the "ballads" and the power of the horn section was relegated to the "outfield". When I saw this album, I didn't recognize the cover so I said "what the heck?" and bought it. From the first cut, I was hooked! This was closer to the horn band that my band in the 70's strove to emulate....
There is a tremendous amount of creativity on the album with different genres instead of whatever is popular this year (ex. Mahjong). Loved it! To the guys in the band..."thank you". I don't mind paying $100 + a ticket to see a band with that kind of power and diversity! a long awaited return!

Free Music Review: Absolutely fantastic !!
Hit: 5 Stars

This Chicago release is absolutely fantastic !! I am playing it over and over and over. As a long time fan of Chicago (from the early 70's), I'll always rank the older stuff with the lead vocals of Peter Cetera and Terry Kath (and Robert Lamm too !!) higher than their releases after Terry's death and Peter's departure. With that said, this release ranks pretty close to the old stuff for me, and that's saying a lot. There's only one song on the cd that I skip (too much hip hop sound for me since I despise hip hop). I'm so glad that this one didn't get lost in the vaults forever and was released to the public !!
