Free Music Notes for Stone of Sisyphus (XXXII)Free Music Review: well worth the wait Hit: 5 Stars
This album is amazing! It's everything I always heard it was and more. It is so full of creative energy and is reminiscent of the kind of music that put Chicago on the map 40 years ago. It was so worth the 15 years we waited to hear it. Some people thought this album would never be released but I'm so glad they finally did release it. I would highly recommend it to anyone but especially those who were missing the old Chicago style from the seventies. It is brilliant.
Free Music Review: Excellent, as usual! Hit: 5 Stars
In Greek mythology, Sisyphus was a king punished in Tartarus by being cursed to roll a huge boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll down again, and to repeat this throughout eternity. Today, Sisyphean can be used as an adjective meaning that an activity is unending and/or repetitive. It could also be used to refer to tasks that are pointless and unrewarding, although this album is definitely as musical task that is, indeed, rewarding and to the point!
Free Music Review: It's been such a long time... Hit: 5 Stars
This is probably a four star album, but it's been so long since Chicago released anything, especially anything approaching the excitement of their earlier work that I give it five stars. Plenty of reviews will dissect the album and each song, but truly each track stands on its own and although a few may fall into that "pop ballad" category that so many love to hate, overall it's a fine work and worthy of your $12 (or whatever it costs these days).
Free Music Review: Chicago Stone of Sisyphus Hit: 5 Stars
All I can say is: ITS ALBOUT TIME!! This album totally ROCKS!! Classic early 70's Chicago sound, finally back to their roots. Every cut is pure Chicago, inovative, edgy at times, and great horns. I've waited for this type of album from them, ever since Terry Kath died. Now, 15 yr's, after they tried to release it, it's finally here! How dumb does Warner Bro's look now!?!?
Free Music Review: it was worth the wait Hit: 5 Stars
Waiting since 1993 for this to be released was a small price to pay for this work of art. Had Warner listened to the artists, this would have been a smash hit with fresh new sounds and a chart topper. This is simply Classic Chicago like you have never heard before.
No true fan should be without this masterpiece that is sure to go gold or better.
