Free Music Notes for Chris Botti in BostonFree Music Review: It gets no better than this, folks !! Hit: 5 Stars
This DVD (mine is Blu-Ray) is as good as live recorded music gets. Chris Botti has a style that seems to transcend traditional trumpet...and on this CD/DVD, he does it all, from rock to jazz, and to classical. He is the most lyrical trumpet player I have ever heard...and his backup band (even without the Boston Symphony Orchestra) is absolutely first rate. Check out the rhythm section getting Jazz/Funky in the solo section of "When I Fall In Love" (the second song)...WHEW !! Billy Childs (piano) is a MONSTER, as is the rest of the band. And the guests; Lucia Micarelli (violin), Josh Groban, Yo-Yo Ma, Sting, John Meyer, etc, etc. Really, this much talent very rarely assembles together like this...and they all get a chance to shine. THIS DVD IS A MUST HAVE.

Free Music Review: botti blows like an angel Hit: 5 Stars
If you enjoy the horn played by a musician's musican, then you will enjoy this CD. Not only is Botti the best trumpet player since Miles, his arrangements are well crafted, no, exquisite, and his well chosen guests rise to the challenge.
I just saw him at the Kennedy Center live and he did not let us down there either. Charming, attractive, articulate and vivacious. He's a performer par excellence. The Boston DVD is well worth the effort as well. Just get some Botti!! You'll smile, you'll cry, then you'll smile again. SUBLIME.
Free Music Review: CHRIS BOTTI IN BOSTON Hit: 5 Stars
This CD has a range that is both unexpected and surprising. He hits high notes that will make Cat Anderson fans take notice and a lush sound that Howard McGhee fans will find soulful and welcome. There are moments that feel like his horn is praying...trumpet fans take notice, the "man" scores a perfect 10 on this one! Sting rocks on his tracks and the other soloists are a joy to listen to. John Mayer gets his groove on and the violin on Emmanuel is worth the price of the CD alone! BUY this CD...you will be SO glad you did!
Free Music Review: Melancholic Hit: 5 Stars
Unbelievable how much I have enjoyed this CD.
Time to say goodbye was chosen to be the epilogue at my Father's grave site. It will bring tears!
Lucia's violin was so soothing and so much of a part of her being that I have not ever heard such tones coming out of an instrument. I have heard other artists with violins and this violin drew you in like no other piece. Enjoy and take it on a road trip!
