Free Music Notes for Night Sessions

Free Music Review: Trumpet jazz as you have never experienced it before.
Hit: 5 Stars

Chris Botti's previous albums have all been excellent, showing his able talents as songwriter, producer and instrumentalist of the highest order. "Night Sessions" is an absolutely superb continuation of his musical expressions, in a haunting, sensual and unforgettable CD that I have been playing over and over.

Botti's minor-key trumpet playing is enough to send chills up your spine, in an introspective thrill of smooth and soulfull emotion. Shawn Colvin's voice adds a most satisfying edge to the Brazilian flavored "All Would Envy," and there is not a bad tack on the CD. By far, one of my favorite albums of the year.

Free Music Review: One of my new favorite artists!
Hit: 5 Stars

Okay....I'll admit it. I did not know a thing about Chris Botti until I saw him on a late-night jazz show on a Dallas TV station. I like Sting, but never really noticed Botti.

Botti played the cut LISA on that set and I was stunned. What great feeling from a horn. Wow.

I got NIGHT SESSIONS ... and the darned thing is hardly ever out of my player. Only the new Jimmy Buffett CD rivals Botti's in playing time.

Then, last week, Botti was on Jay Leno and he did ALL WOULD ENVY with Shaun Colvin. That was a nice 5:01 break.

I still think LISA and MIAMI OVERNIGHT are my favorites, but I pretty much like all of them.

This CD is perfect background for a dinner party, a night with someone special or when you're checking email or writing reviews.

I'll be buying whatever Botti does next.

Enjoy!

Free Music Review: Can't Stop Listening
Hit: 5 Stars

To be honest, I never heard of Chris Botti or his music until I bought this album 5 days ago. Now I can't stop listening. I have always loved jazz, especially Saxaphone and Clarinet jazz. Chris has such a mellow sound that it is easy to listen to and relax to the music. If you listen to music to relax and just plain enjoy the sound, this album is a must.

Free Music Review: Extremely Disappointing
Hit: 2 Stars

Like most people who have listened to any of Chris Botti's previous recordings, I thought I'd really love "Night Sessions." However, I was extremely disappointed when I listened to this, what I consider boring CD. That's right, boring. The first two tunes weren't bad, nothing to write home about but passable. By the time I got to the eighth track I could no longer check my impulse to hit the fast forward button. I couldn't even finish listening to the last tune on the CD. This one's going straight to the used CD store. This is truly a shame because his "Slowing Down The World" CD is one of my favorites. All the more reason that "Night Sessions" was such a disappointment.

Wow!! Where has Chris Botti been all this time?? I have developed a new respect for him. I have always been a Rick Braun fan but Chris Botti has surprised me. I keep my "Night Session" cd with me at work and use it as yoga for my mind and soul. Keep up the good work Chris and continue putting out smooth tracts like Night Sessions. Peace
