As a trumpet player, I am not at all impressed. Chops? He has none, and frequently passes on high notes in favor of his background players. Wynton or Artuto Sandoval blow him out of the water in terms of dynamics, tone, and range. Not bad music, but Chris Botti is not a top tier player.
