Free Music Notes for Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Album (1999 Television Series)Free Music Review: For Buffy the Vampire Slayer Fans Hit: 5 StarsMy girlfriend loves her Buffy the Vampire Slayer, so she loves this CD. If you were a fan of the Buffy series then this is a must own.
Free Music Review: Takes you back to the episodes Hit: 5 StarsListening to the cd takes you back to some of the episodes of Buffy. Enjoyable cd to listen too.
Free Music Review: For the die hard Buffy fan Hit: 4 StarsIf you love the show but can't stay home and watch it all of the time, this is a good way to take it with you. Music from several of the seasons are included. The tone of the show is adequately represented. There are a few musical guests who do not appear on the cd which is a little disappointing but in order to include them all, as well as the many songs played in the background (yes, even Cher!), one would have to create a BtVS cd box set. And why not? Include "Once More with Feeling" and every song ever featured or played on the show.
Free Music Review: When Radio Sunnydale Gets Old, Put On the Original Again Hit: 5 StarsI'm not sure when I first bought this CD (probably shortly after its release), but I didn't really give the album the attention it deserved until this year. In early 2006 I bought Radio Sunnydale (the 21-track import) and listened to it obsessively for the better part of a year. When some of the tracks started getting old, I picked up the original Buffy soundtrack and listened to it again for the first time in years. And I fell in love.
Although Radio Sunnydale has, on average, more memorable tunes from the series (Ballad for Dead Friends, Blue, Sugar Water, etc), even if you can't place where the songs on this album appear in the show, they still capture the heart of Buffy and the indie rock vibe that was particularly present in the first few seasons when the Bronze played more of a central role in the series.
Personal album favorites:
Teenage FBI - Guided By Voices
I Quit - Hepburn
Lucky - Bif Naked
Keep Myself Awake - Black Lab
Transylvanian Concubine - Rasputina
Free Music Review: I Love This Album Hit: 5 StarsI purchased this album not too soon after moving 3,000 miles from everything I knew. I recognized some of the songs from favorite episodes, and the rest became second families. I still have strong connections to a few tracks. This album is a really good post brek-up album. It's not happy music...quite depressing, but Buffy wasn't a really positive show. I highly recommend this album.
