My older siblings were avid fans of Christopher Cross, and so I have come to note the reasons why. Indeed, why expect him to sing his songs the way he recorded them in the studio when this is a LIVE performance to begin with. It doesn't matter whether he sounded "off-key" because, didn't you notice that he's playing around with his songs? And doing so doesn't necessarily mean that he can no longer match his past pitch. Hardly. If you're a fan, why berate the artist when there wasn't much deviations done to his songs in the first place! In my opinion, these are how they must sound, in spite of his long absence from the limelight. I wouldn't mind hearing this nor watching his DVD release, "An Evening with Christopher Cross" because I loved every track he sang here and there. He's the man, and he still rocks after all these forgotten years. Go buy the MP3 album of this Greatest Hits LIVE if you're adamant to get a disc that may not sound good on playback. I go for any format but I never heard any warped portion anywhere. No matter what, I loved this album. You should, too (if you're like me. If not, you can always listen to Amazon's samplers before buying anyway). :)
