Free Music Review: One of the Most Underrated Bands Ever

"Under the Milky Way: The Best of The Church" was my introduction to one of the greatest bands I've ever heard. It did its job marvellously, as it made me want to own every Church record i could get my hands on, and I've done just that.

I agree wholeheartedly with the tracklist, though I don't think they should have called it "The Best of the Church," as a lot of their amazing songs aren't on here ("Already Yesterday," "Spark" and "Kings" come to mind). It should be viewed as more of a singles collection. They were an amazing singles band, and "Under the Milky Way" is one of the best singles to ever make the Top 40.

The best song on here is "Mrryh" although it's not my favorite Church song. I do agree that it is the one song that sums up everything the Church have ever done. It's a masterpiece, and the rest of the Heyday album is right on par with it.

If you've never heard of the Church definitely take a chance on this CD. It's well worth it and they may fill that void in your collection of music. Everyone should love this band, and it's a shame they don't have the means to tour anymore. I would love to see them live someday.
