Free Music Notes for City Of Angels: Music From The Motion PictureFree Music Review: Angels fly high Hit: 5 Stars
This is the soundtrack to own, this was a classic right from the start, this soundtrack ended up producing 4 hits and becoming one of the biggest soundtracks of all time. The soundtrack started of with U2's "If God Would Send His Angels" which was a mild hit but the next 3 songs really made this album something really special, first came "Iris" from Goo Goo Dolls which became a monster of a hit for the guys, then came my two favorites from this album, "Uninvited" from Alanis Morissette this was so well written and you can feel and hear that Alanis wrote this song directly for this album, and finally the tearjerking and heartbreaking "Angel" from Sarah Mclachlan(this song is also found on her album "Surfacing", this was one of the biggest song for Sarah, much like what "Iris" did for the Goo Goo Dolls. I even feel that they would have been safe releasing Paula Cole's song "Feelin' Love", but once again this album is just a pleasure to own and listen to.
Free Music Review: beacuse jimmy is on it i am recondidering! Hit: 5 Stars
Be gone Jimmy Hendricks. I loved U2's track and the best song in my opinion is Iris by Googoo Dolls. The instrumental is brilliant, sharp, and clear. Their guitar work is quite clearly out of this world and they go out of their way to make it impossible to for a budding guitarist like myself to find their chords to the song. Alanis' Uninvited takes second place. Though she is having a scratching match with U2 who are in third place with If God would send his angels. I do not know why John Lee Hooker is singing about his Momma who has a daughter, but I geuss if your do not have a life, you have to talk about your family. Who is Paula Cole? And whose love is she feeling... do we actually care??? But on a less scathing note, Gabriel Yared is superb in with his intrumental pieces City of Angels being one of the best. Even so, sorry babe, your fifth. Sarah McLachlan's heavenly voice takes your to new heights with her "angel". If I left out anyone, that is because you don't matter.
Free Music Review: Heavenly Hit: 5 Stars
this CD is one of my top 5 favorite CDs. as far as soundtracks go - this one and one other are my favs. (the other? you want to know? it's Boys on the Side) it's not that I even like the movie - cause I don't. just that the soundtrack is soooooooo good!
my dear husband, Norman, and I have had great sex to this CD more times than I can count. and I fall asleep to it several times a month. I keep it next to my bed.
the songs -
If God Will Send His Angels - very soft, sweet, sultry, kind.
Uninvited - Alanis Morissette, haunting, sultry, memorable.
Mama, You Got A Daughter - love it! I want a whole CD with just this guy! John Lee Hooker - New Orleans kinda blues - so good. Angel - sweet, Sarah McLachlan. yummy good.
Iris - beyond beautiful. Goo Goo Dolls.
the rest, all good. Jimmi, U2, what a cast! as a compilation - it is very very good.
buy it from a nice seller on Amazon, I did!
Free Music Review: Best soundtrack I know of Hit: 5 Stars
Yes, I will be willing to go as far as say this is the best soundtrack EVER. It includes songs that aare perfectly amazing. I love Alanis Morissette, Goo Goo Dolls, Sarah McLachlan, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton, and lucky for me, they all appear on one CD. The previously unreleased "Uninvited" is for sure some of Alanis Morissette's best work (being a HUGE Alanis fan) and my favorite song on the soundtrack. John Lee Hooker's "Mamam You Got a Daughter" is a very original blues song that is fun to listen to and sing with. Sarah McLachlan and Goo Goo Dolls both have songs that surpass all others that I've ever hears. And Gabriel Yared's instrumentals are perfect for the CD. Above all I don't think that anything is better than this soundtrack. A wonderful variety of music.
Free Music Review: Introduction...... Hit: 5 Stars
I originally bought this soundtrack for 'Uninvited' as well-but fell in LOVE with Jimi Hendrix 'Redhouse'. I am originally a guitar/blues fan; Areosmith, ZZ Top, the like; but when I heard 'Redhouse,' it was love. This prompted me to buy 'Are You Experienced?' by THE MAN-er, Hendrix; sorry-and it has barely left my turntable since-um,the hendrix cd... This is a well put together soundtrack; and anyone who likes blues and mellow songs should purchase this. I was equally impressed with Alanis's 'Uninvited,' a beautiful song-I was proud that she got the grammy she so well deserved for the song. This cd is a great purchase; especially if you tend to be in a...mellow mood often. I would not give it up for anything; it introduced me to Jimi Hendrix-and that alone was worth the $$ I paid for it.
