Free Music Notes for City Of Angels: Music From The Motion PictureFree Music Review: A must-have whether you've seen or liked the movie! Hit: 5 Stars
This is not only my favorite soundtrack, but one of my favorite CDs! It is such a great mix of music--from classic blues by Hooker and Clapton to alternative tunes from U2 and Alanis. The original score instrumentals from the movie are also quite nice-very light and relaxing. If you loved the movie, then you will love this CD no questions asked. Even if you have not seen the movie or did not care for it, I recommend the CD because it is such an unique and enjoyable compilation. I love to put this CD on and just kick back (it is also the perfect CD to listen to when stuck inside on a rainy day). Just FYI: In addition to the artists mentioned above, songs from Jimmy Hendrix, Paula Cole, the GooGoo Dolls, Peter Gabriel, and Sarah McLachlan also appear.

Clapton's song was great, because she was a Blues fan. She loved blues guitar and it was featured prominantly enough in the movie. And in case you've been asleep for the last 30+years I'll tell you, Clapton has more to offer than just that one song. It's like people want him to only sing that song. Like Sammy Davis Jr. and "Candy Man". Give him a break folks. "Tears in Heaven" was already on a movie soundtrack BTW. And it's a good release from the sadder tunes on the soundtrack. If you want an album full of nothing but sad songs go buy Chicago's greatest hits or something, this CD is perfect the way it is. Who wants a song that would only be clashing with "Angel" over tear jerker status. Sarah made the grade with that one, a masterpiece, leave it at that.
Free Music Review: When you hear this CD, you'll have to see the movie. Hit: 5 Stars
I didn't see the movie until it came out on video, but the soundtrack totally blew me away. I have been waiting so long for Alanis Morissette to put out another single, but "Uninvited" was worth the wait. It's haunting and eerie, and it makes you wonder. Sarah McLachlan's "Angel" is possibly her best song (also on "Surfacing) and I would recommend buying this soundtrack just for that, but we cannot forget "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls. If I see that video and hear that song a million times, I still won't get tired or it. The song is so beautiful, and I love the line "Yeah, you bleed just to know you're alive". It shows just how far anyone who truly loves will go.
Free Music Review: Review of music and movie Hit: 5 Stars
The music fits the movie perfectly. Meg Ryan and Nick Cage are both very convincing in their roles. The movie renews your belief in angels. It makes you sure that they are everywhere. For anyone who has loved someone completely or would like to be loved that way it is is the movie to own. I never get tired of watching it. Andre Braugher is excellent as is Dennis Franz. It makes you laugh, cry and gives you hope. If you don't like this film, you need a hug. If you do like this, try Phonomenon with John Travolta too. You'll love them both. My husband (who is not into "chick flicks") loves them too. They are not over-done or sappy or corny, just wonderful!!! Don't miss them!!!
Free Music Review: Something that stopped me midstride..... Hit: 5 Stars
While at a friend's house I heard a single track of this soundtrack (Uninvited) and was amazed at the sounds I was hearing. It was incredible! Many of the other tracks were, to me, ok... even good... but had the effect of that one track. Unlike the alleged "musiclover" (to be worthy of that description, my friend, you need to appreciate that some people will have different tastes in music to yourself... unless of course, you are the only living authority on "music"... "she should be shot"? Sad....)those tracks that I didn't particularly like DID complement the movie..... In other words, they did what they were meant to do. ...but Uninvited... WOW!
