Free Music Notes for City Of Angels: Music From The Motion PictureFree Music Review: A moving tribute to the divine. Hit: 5 Stars
The collection of artists from U2 to Clapton is a strange mix of styles that doesn't all fit a single genre. This variety gives the CD depth that lacks from such soundtracks as Batman Forever. The final four songs on the CD from Yared is a very nice touch. Unlike most soundtracks that include music inspired by, this one is careful to not forget the movie music. Despite some of the clashing styles, like Morisette's and Hendrix, the CD gives you a touch of the divine.
Free Music Review: Very peaceful and calming Hit: 5 Stars
This CD is one of the best and most inspiring CD's I've bought in the last year or so. Sarah McLachlan's words of comfort have given me a reason to keep living, Peter Gabrial has made me see the pain, but necessity of life. Alanis Morissette is just wonderful no matter how you put it. The instrumentals on this CD are so calming and relaxing that they provide a nice change from everyday life. I would recommend this to anyone in need of some inspiring words.
Free Music Review: Absolutely my favorite CD Hit: 5 Stars
Well, yeah. I guess my review is coming a bit late, but what the heck. I /really/ enjoyed this CD a lot. At first, I just heard Uninvited and Iris on the radio, and they were two of my favorite songs, but then I finally got the CD. It was great! I especially like the first two, but my favorite is probably I Grieve by Peter Gabriel. All the others are really good, though. They really bring back pictures from the movie, and they are a well-selected bunch.
Free Music Review: A classic "keeper" for the soundtrack lover. Hit: 5 Stars
The music is eclectic, yet wonderful to listen for hours on end. I never leave home without it! It would have been wonderful to also have a cd of the score for this movie , just like in Message in a bottle...Gabriel Yared is a classic romantic of music for the screen. His cuts on City are my absolute favorites. The music compilation on this cd leaves much room for thought and pondering of what could have been in one's life. Get it and love it too!
Free Music Review: "But this is not allowed..." Hit: 5 Stars
City of Angels soundtrack would be nothing without that haunting, gorgeous ballad by Alanis Morissette called Uninvited. I remember when that song was released, I was a freshman in high school and I felt weak in the knees when I heard it, I still love that song to this day! Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls was a huge hit but the song got tiresome and the U2 track is pretty boring. The rest of the soundtrack is lazy - 5 stars for Uninvited - it's that good!
