Free Music Review: How did Clay go unnoticed for so long?
Hit: 5 Stars

How did Clay Aiken go unnoticed up until his debut on American Idol? This young man has proved that he is pure star quality ranked up with the best of them, including Elton John, Celine Dion and so many other well-established singers in the music industry. Not sure what show Simon and Randy were watching when they gawked at Clay performing This Is The Night for the first time. This song was a number one single at first site and first listen. Clay's flawless voice combined with amazingly written lyrics sent chills through the bodies of millions of fans around the world. For years Bridge Over Troubled Water was identified as Paul Simon's song. Leave it to Clay, in making that song all into his own, creating his own, new show-stopping identity to BOTW. It really did feel as if BOTW was being performed for the very first time as Clay effortlessly ripped out the lyrics to that song. The background vocals were a beautiful addition and proved that Clay has the ability to over-take any song and lead the way with his powerful, angelic voice. Fox may have not crowned him the American Idol but record sales and billboard numbers based on his first single convey he is the true winner.

Free Music Review: The new VOICE in pop music
Hit: 5 Stars

Clay Aiken has one of the best voices in pop music. His pure voice transcends you to another level; almost heaven. The fact that his voice doesn't necessarily fits into the mold of pop music or any other genre for that matter sets him apart from the rest. This man has talent; something that is somewhat missing in them music industry today. In the world of barbie dolls and ken dolls, here comes a young man with unconventional looks, but with a voice that is to not to be overlooked.

"Bridge over troubled water" could have been better produced because it seems as if Clay has to compete with the music and choir; it should definitely be the other way around. However, that being said, it is a beautiful rendition of the song, almost a spiritual/religious connotation that was not heard in the original version.

"This is the night" is definitely the song that showcases Clay's remarkable talent. His range is remarkable and the music and background vocals are there to enhance Clay's powerful pipes. This song will be the wedding and prom song for decades.

Such an amazing talent. I expect to hear quite more from this extremely talented singer in the future.

Free Music Review: I Think The Fans Have Decided Who The IDOL Really Is
Hit: 5 Stars

This man is fantastic. I watched Idol every week from the onset and he just keeps getting better and better. The payoff, of course, is this amazing first CD. I just hope This Is The Night is the one that has been sent to the radio stations. I very seldom like a song the first time I hear it but I fell in love with this song the night Clay sang it for the first time on IDOL. I feel like it will go straight to the top of the chart and hope he also has a video in the works. His rendition of Bridge Over Troubled Water was excellent as well, but "Night" is the piece de resistance. What I'm going to say next is no reflection against Ruben because I'm sure he had nothing to do with it, but someone apparently jammed Clay's line that nite, effectively reducing the number of votes that got thru. I tried to vote from 10:00 until 12:35 and got a busy signal each time, even though the cutoff was 12:00. The day of the final competition USA Today's online poll indicated that 68% of their voters were for Clay with only 32% for Ruben. Very disappointing! But Clay got his contract and has been #1 in CD sales for the last couple of weeks. Go, Clay! You got a 5 star avg. so far.

Free Music Review: The genuine Idol
Hit: 5 Stars

I must say I havent been moved by a singer since Elvis.Clay sends chills everytime I hear his sings.I wish they didnt put so much of the chorus on bridge over troubled water.Actually I think they should do another version with more updated instrumentation like other stars do, or even a duet harmony version with Clay doing both parts like Simon and Garfunkles original. This is the night is awsome and very uplifting I feel good after hearing that one and Im tired of critics putting that song down. Its a nice change from alot of negative sounding stuff thats out today.Clay is a breath of fresh air and its nice to see a good guy make it for a change.I feel Clay won the idol compitition but Im glad he got signed and I feel he will go far and I look forward to his complete album.I think Clays an original and doesnt sound like anyone else which I think is special. Those kind of voices become legend.Rubens good too but Ive heard a million of his type.In a nut shell Clay is a star and good for the industry and I hope the radio stations start playing his music soon. They shouldnt shy away from what America has chosen especially knowing how well his singles are selling.Thumbs up for clay!

Free Music Review: Great Voice
Hit: 5 Stars

Clay Aiken is a truly talented vocalist and performer. One of the best songs he's ever sang is "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Though he doesn't have a high-pitched voice like the original singer, Art Garfunkle, Clay still sounds fantastic in this song, especially when he holds that long note close to the end. I personally might have preferred this song without the choir, even though they do give a cheerful feeling to the song.

"This Is The Night" is a beautiful song with romantic lyrics. Definately a good one! If I remember correctly, Clay had this song written for him to sing during American Idol.

Overall, I would say that Clay Aiken's first album, Invisible, has many more great songs to listen to then this single, but this single is pretty much the only way to hear Clay sing "Bridge Over Troubled Water". If you're a Clay fan, the single doesn't cost that much, so I'd buy it. And "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and "This Is The Night" fit together perfectly. But if you want many a song by Clay, I recommend "Invisible".

P.S. Clay fans, don't forget! Clay is coming out with a Christmas album soon (Or has he already?).
