Free Music Review: BRAIKEN NEWS - CLAYMANIA SWEEPS NEW ZEALAND!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Following up on my review from last week where I predicted that although Ruben is the American Idol, Clay would become an International Idol; it's official - Clay is the New Zealand Idol!

The single was released here on June 27 and entered the charts just one day later at #1. Some of the huge department stores have sold out in just 2 days! Hold on tight Clay, because just as many Amazon reviewers predicted, the world is falling in love with you and your golden voice.

Guest judge Lionel Richie's question "Who ARE you?!!!" can finally be answered. Clay Aiken is an international chart-topping superstar who has reviewers all over the world thinking, hmmmm... how do you spell phenomenal?

I feel sorry for his special needs students. I don't think they'll ever get him back, because now the world is full of people with 'special needs'... we neeeed Clay!!! Now that American Idol is finished we're having withdrawal symptoms - we're shakin' without Aiken!

Congratulations Clay - your time has come to shine - all your dreams are on their way. I'm so thrilled for you that I'm flying without wings! : )

Free Music Review: Clay Aiken - This is the Night - Awesome!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

The first time this young man opened his mouth and I heard him sing "Lying beside you, Here in the dark" from Journey's "Open Arms", I was totally hooked. Clay Aiken is going to be a superstar for an industry that needs an overhaul. I haven't been touched this way by an artist in a very long time. I thoroughly enjoy "This is the Night". It's a powerful song and I can't wait until Mr. Aiken makes a video. His showstopping rendition of Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" during the American Idol finale was nothing but spectacular. However, I think something was lost in making the studio version of the song. I like the choir and think they should have been included, but at times they are overpowering Mr. Aiken's wonderful voice. Whoever mixed the song should have realized this. If the average listener (and there are many) can pick up on this, why couldn't the professionals "hear" the same thing? My hope is that when the full length CD is produced, some changes are made. I eagerly await Clay Aiken's debut album and will look forward to seeing him blossom as an entertainer.

Free Music Review: Clay Rules!
Hit: 5 Stars

Clay is the primary reason my wife and I watched American Idol this season. From the first time we saw and heard him sing we thought he would win. Anyway, he sounds just as good on this CD as he did on the show.

The first song, "Bridge over Troubled Water", has way too much accompaniment and background (or should I say foreground) vocals. Geez. Just let the guy sing. The uninitiated listener will probably not appreciate Clay's voice in this song nearly as much as if listening to the rendition performed on the show. Superfluous noise issues notwithstanding, this is a great track.

But then comes the song written for Clay, "This is the Night". This is the song you'll listen to over and over the most. On the show Randy said he hoped this wouldn't be Clay's first single, indicating that he didn't particularly like the song. What was that dawg thinking? The song is fantastic and Clay's voice will give you goose bumps every time you listen.

I think this CD is the beginning of a great singing career, and I can't wait for Clay's first full album to be released.

Free Music Review: Yes! Clay is TOPS; changing pop, taking us back to singers
Hit: 5 Stars

I agree with the man who is not as unpopular as he thinks (I know many men, usually involved with music in some way except for my physician!, who are fans of Clay Aiken), in that when Mr. Aiken sings you are, for the duration, caught up in "so this is what life is all about". And I agree with the reviewer who says he is changing the style of modern pop, moving it away from the ear-assaulting wall of sound to real singing; and I agree also that he has the style of the stand-up singers of earlier eras. But Mr. Aiken has something more which I can't explain, and which all his fans experience and discuss and puzzle about -- I am more enthralled when he sings than with any other artist I've heard, and I'm old enough to have heard many. Part of it is that he can make his voice express an incredible amount of emotion. Another is that he has an unusually versatile range with power, richness, and resonance in all registers. Another is an instantly recognizeable but mysterious "Clay" quality that somehow is addictive; the more you hear him, the more you want to listen.

Free Music Review: Clay Aiken -- Superstar!
Hit: 5 Stars

Clay Aiken, the guy with the 1000 watt voice, the southern gent manners, the goofy giggle, love of God, mom and children, and record-breaker for debut single at #1 spot on Billboards Hot 100.
Clay Aiken, the guy that fans just can't get enough of, the "babe" on the cover of the July 10, 2003 issue of Rolling Stone Magazine.
Clay Aiken, WHO?
Yeah, hard as it is to believe, there are still folks out there who've never heard of this vocal powerhouse. Well, that won't be the case for much longer.
With a voice that can bring Neil Sedaka to tears, and make us feel like we're hearing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" for the first time, this guy is going to be a household name.
Don't be one of the ones left behind when the Claytrain speeds through your town. Buy Bridge Over Troubled Water/ This Is The Night and experience Clay for yourself. You'll be joining the thousands who've already pre-ordered his yet-to-be-titled, unreleased, new CD simply because you know that "This man can sing the phone book and make it sound amazing!"
