Free Music Notes for Bridge Over Troubled Water/This Is The NightFree Music Review: Could not ask for more. Hit: 5 Stars
First of all, a look at the actual quality of the two songs on Clay Aiken's single. The A-side features "Bridge Over Troubled Waters", a cover of the hit originally done by Simon and Garfunkel. It's a very powerful song, and the vocals are superb. The gospel choir adds a nice touch, but it also has its minor drawbacks: the choir is at times too loud and distracting. However, instead of drowning Clay out, this gives his clear voice a better chance to shine, and shine it does. Clay sings this song from his heart, and every note hits deep.On B-side is original "This Is The Night". A favourite during Clay's competition days on American Idol (see "Final Two" episode), this song is truly a force to be reckoned with on the charts. In my personal opinion, "This Is The Night" would have done better as the A-side, because there's just so much more CLAY to it. Every line exudes confidence, emotion, and an indescribable charm. This is the reason America is under his spell. Honestly: what more is there to say? Clay Aiken has it all (the voice, the looks, the charm, you name it!), and he gave it all in his debut single. He has the voice of an angel, and the most amazing and humble attitude that ever graced the world of entertainment. This, the world, is the biggest star in tomorrow's music industry, rising in front of our very own eyes. Can you ask for anything more?
Free Music Review: Flawed CD but brilliant performer Hit: 5 Stars
This CD cannot truly capture the magnificance of Clay's voice. The choir in the backing track of "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" often drowns out his voice, and neither track shows off the pureness of his voice. Even so, this CD is head and shoulders above most of the mainstream music we have today. If you missed out on Clay's showstopping performances on American Idol, this is your chance to hear the most uniquely brilliant voice that has come along in a long time. Clay may have lost the title of American Idol (though his actual defeat remains questionable - There was only 0.5% in the votes and the margin of error created by clogged phone lines meant the competition was statistically a tie.) Clay may not be the "American Idol", but he has won over the hearts of millions with his undeniable talent and lovable personality. Here is a man who has devoted his life to helping disabled children, especially those with Autism, and who has inspired hundreds of people to make donations to the Autism Society. Here is a man who, when told by the judges that he was ugly or that he made strange facial ticks, never talked back and always tried to improve himself from week to week. Here is a man, when defeated by Ruben for the title of American Idol, became the most gracious "loser" America has ever seen. Clay may not have the title, but he is certainly the true idol in the hearts of his fans.

Free Music Review: I have been waiting forever for Clay CD. Hit: 5 Stars
"I have been waiting forever for this"......my Clay CD.....LOL....at least it felt like that. We LOVE LOVE this "KID'S VOICE!!!! Such power and pureness in his voice. This review is coming from a family of 4 Clay fans. Our favorite song is "This is the Night." It is a beautiful love song......by a amazing singer. Have been playing it over and over. Beautiful. Clay fans......oh that amazing voice. And this song lets you hear it. We also loved Clay's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" the night of the finale and was excited that it was going to be on the new single. Clay sounds great as usual. However, RCA.....please listen to this. It is Clay's voice that is selling the CD. It is Clay's voice that made us tune in Tuesday after Tuesday. We want to hear him.......and his amazing voice. Tone down the background music. He doesnt need it. We found ourselves wanting to scream at the chorus to shut up! But nevertheless.....we concentrated and could hear his pure beautiful voice. Consider putting this song on the full CD but minimize the chorus. Let us hear our Clay. Many of today's "popular" singers might need the loud chorus/background music to cover for average voices. But finally we have someone who can really sing. He hit all the notes just right and can sing any song beautifully. Thank you American Idol for bringing us Clay. Waiting for the release of his full CD.
Free Music Review: SIMPLY PUT - ASTONISHING! Hit: 5 Stars
There are NO words to describe how incredible this young man is! His voice is magnificent, and he also has the "persona" to go with it. His voice is so powerful and rich, yet can be angelical as well. I am not one to be moved just by any artist, but Clay simply touches my soul. I must confess that Ruben was my favorite to win AI. That was until Clay came into the picture. Ruben is sweet, and I love his smooth style (besides the fact that you just want to hug the guy), but Clay has a far better "instrument", and his voice is versatile - it absolutely shines! Clay's human qualities are also evident by his work with special-needs children. I can only compare Clay to the feeling I got when I first listened to Josh Groban over the radio. I knew instantly that Josh would be a huge star! I believe that Clay will make it even bigger than Josh. I have sung in church choirs all my life, I know about music and can instantly recognize true talent. I'm sorry, but those who criticize Clay's performance or his voice on this CD know NOTHING about music. The only honest and valid criticisim here is that of the choir over-powering Clay's voice at times, but even the choir is wonderful on this CD. If you appreciate GOOD music and want to listen to true talent, someone who will make your heart rejoice, buy this CD, you won't regreat it!
