Free Music Review: Could Christmas Music be any better than this.
Hit: 5 Stars

Clay Aiken's voice was born to sing Christmas Music. He just shines in all of these songs and some of them made me tear up as well as causing chills down my spine.

O Holy Night: One of the best versions that I have ever heard in my entire life. I was driving home from the store that I purchased this CD and I started tearing up because it was so beautiful. I was also watching my 5 year old in through my rear view mirror so that I could see her reaction and she just sat there with the biggest smile on her face and listened to Clay's glorious voice.

Winter Wonderland: Not one of my favorite christmas songs but it is fun and spunky and easy to sing along too. A great classic rendition to this song.

Silent Night: It sounds just like the lullaby that the song is supposed to be. It is beautiful and chill inducing

Hark The Harold Angels Sing/O Come All Ye Faithful: Glorious and Loud just like the songs words protray. Great Medley and great transition from Hark to O Come All Ye Faithful. One of the best songs on the CD

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas: One of my personal favorite Christmas Carols and Clay Aiken sings this song to a tee.

Mary Did You Know: Absolutely breathtaking!!!!!!!! It is Haunting and beautiful. One of the best reditions ever.

Don't Save It All For Christmas: I love love love this song. It is amazing!!!!!!

Merry Christmas with Love: It reminds me of my childhood and the magic of Christmas. It makes my 5 year daughter and I smile:) It is a little country flavored too and that just adds to the song. Clay has a great country voice.

Sleigh Ride: I think as a child this song was one of my favorite Christmas Carols to sing in Elementary School but as I grew up I hated it, and fell in love with more classical Christmas songs. However, Clay Aiken made me fall in love with it again. It brought back the memories of singing it in Elementary school and all the fun winter and christmas time can be.

What Are You Doing New Years Eve:
This song is jazzy and different. I had never heard it before but I really like it. It wraps up the Christmas Album by bringing you to the fact that New Years Eve is right after Christmas but still part of the Holidays and very special.

Free Music Review: A Precious Experience
Hit: 5 Stars

I am a Clay fan. I love Christmas songs at Christmas. To have Clay sing some of my all time favourite Christmas songs at Christmas time is a double blessing!

I love this album. Clay's pefect voice and his very beautiful rendition of each one of these dear songs make listening to the album a truly precious experience.

The choice and order of the songs is great in the sense that we move form a carol to a popular song and the spirit of Christmas comes through ever so clearly.

There is the joyful spirit of Sleigh ride and Winter Wonderland with all its connotaitons of festivity and fun.

There is the serene charm of Silent Night and the majesty of O Holy Night. Then there is the deeply theological meaning of the gift of Christmas - the birth of Jesus and his saving mission in Mary Did YOu Know?. Which brings home to us the true value of Christmas as one of love and giving which should be be expressed freely all the time in his gentle reminder Don't save it all for Christmas Day.

The poignancy of Merry Christmas with Love does not escape me either. Christmas is about people, people who are lonely, people who are nostalgic and people who need to knwo that there is still love and care around simply because it is Christmas which is the feast of care and love.

This album is yet another testimony to the gentle, sensitive nature of Clay Aiken. He can make an annual feast so very special this year just by being willing ot share his voice, his talent and his fine performance in an album so maningful and rich as this one.

I bought a couple of this cd and I have one playing in my car and it makes my journeying so sweet and I have one playing in my computer as I work! In fact it is so good that I am going ot give it as an early Christmas present to many of my friends.

After all, Christmas is about good news and about sharing. Clay Aiken's cd is good news and I want to share the sheer enjoyment of htis very fine and wonderful cd with the people I love!

Great work, great [performance, Clay. Keep on going. You are making the difference you want to make-so much more than you know!

Free Music Review: Purely Magical!
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm typically not a big fan of Christmas songs, since they can get repetitive so easily, and I don't even think I own any Christmas CDs at all. Although I am a huge fan of Clay, I have to admit that I was rather skeptical when I saw his Christmas album.

One day at a bookstore, I decided to listen to it as I was bored, and hearing his pure, beautiful voice on this CD left me amazed and awed. I knew then that I had to get it.

Listening to Clay sing Christmas carols was like listening to these songs for the first time. He truly exhibits the unnerving ability to make the songs his own, and he puts so many original touches in them that you can't help but marvel at his skill as an artist. Furthermore, you can hear the passion and joy behind his singing, and this brings out the beautiful quality of his voice even more.

"Mary, Did You Know" is one of the most spiritual tracks on the CD. Clay's tender voice is enhanced by the soft background music, and the lyrics are touching and dream-like, almost. "Merry Christmas With Love" is another favorite of mine, as Clay sings it with such vulnerability that I almost feel like crying. This song, which talks about the loneliness of a woman with no family, brings out the spirit and love of Christmas. Clay also gives a brilliant delivery of Celine Dion's "Don't Save It All For Christmas Day." He puts so much passion into this song that as big of a fan of Celine Dion as I am, I have to admit that Clay sang this song just as well as she did, if not more. Listening to it, you can't even tell that Clay doesn't own this song, as he makes its so personal and original. Clay performs equally well on other tracks, like "Oh Holy Night" and "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve."

In short, this Christmas album is wonderful and may be just the thing you need for your CD collection. If you like Clay Aiken even just a little, you'll definitely treasure and appreciate his new album. It will take you on a magical and spiritual ride to the discovery of the meaning of Christmas.

Free Music Review: The Ideal Christmas Album
Hit: 5 Stars

The Ideal Christmas Album

"Merry Christmas With Love" is Clay Aiken's welcome follow up to 2003's "Measure of a Man."

Aiken's solo debut was a less-than-ideal fit for his voice because overproduction overshadowed his powerful pipes. The project also showed RCA and 19 Entertainment's confusion about whether to market Aiken as a top 40 MTV-ready artist or an adult contemporary vocalist.

"Merry Christmas With Love" works precisely because the labels figured out what to do with Aiken-let him sing traditional songs that fit into an AC holiday market.

The tunes here could have been written for Aiken to sing. He ably displays his knowledge of when to use restraint, as in "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," and when to soar, as in "O, Holy Night."

Walter Afanasieff (Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and Phil Ramone (Barry Manilow, Ray Charles, Rod Stewart) produced this gem of a holiday CD. The Afanasieff-produced tunes sound particularly inspired, outshining even Ramone's fine work. Aiken's touring backup singers provide background vocals on two songs, while the Broadway Inspirational Voices and the McCrary Choir lend their voices to other songs.

Aiken is at his best on "Mary Did You Know," an inspirational number previously sung by contemporary Christian singer, Michael English, and "Don't Save It All for Christmas Day," a Celine Dion co-penned tune also covered by contemporary Christian recording group, Avalon. The latter song showcases Aiken's ability to really belt out a song when necessary. The former highlights the sweetness of his tenor voice on softer tunes.

The entire project evokes all the sounds, smells and visions of Christmas. You'll be ready to drink hot cocoa, bake cookies, light the tree and wrap gifts with this disc playing in the background.

If you're looking for a well-sung CD of traditional tunes, or want to give the ideal Christmas album, this is the one to buy.

Free Music Review: Superb Christmas Album
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a superb Christmas album. I try not to "rush the season", but it's tempting to keep this album playing from now (mid-November) through New Years. The production is marvelous, the orchestral backgrounds are fitting to Clay's superb vocals.

Oh, Holy Night - This is a beautiful arrangement, with some very subtle nuances by Clay.

Winter Wonderland - Very, very enjoyable. Evokes the feeling of the season.

Silent Night - One of my favorites. Beautifully rendered, almost causing me to tear up a bit.

Hark the Herald Angels Sing/O Come All Ye Faithful - A unique blend of two beloved hymns. Clay's vocals are particularly strong on the O Come All Ye Faithful part.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - This was not a favorite of mine in past years, but I am really loving Clay's version.

Mary, Did You Know - My new favorite Christmas song ever. Very spiritual, particularly as sung by Clay with some incredibly subtle nuances. You can sense the emotion in the song. Interesting background music adds to the enjoyment.

Joy to the World - Robustly rendered by Clay.

The Christmas Song - Again, an old standard brought to new life by Clay. I enjoyed this very much.

Don't Save It All For Christmas Day - This song just blew me away. Incredible.

Merry Christmas With Love - very sentimental (perfect for the season). Shows Clay's lower register beautifully.

Sleigh Ride - Makes me wish for some snow, a sleigh, a few blankets, and some hot chocolate at the end of the day. And I'm not usually a "winter-loving" person.

What Are You Doing Christmas Eve - An incredibly romantic, hopeful song. It's the first time I've heard it, but it's just beautiful.

This is truly a classic album that will hold up to listens year after year. I give it my highest recommendation.
