Free Music Notes for Merry Christmas With LoveFree Music Review: Merry Christmas with Love from Clay Hit: 5 Stars
An absolutely breath-taking collection of classic Christmas songs from triple-platinum recording artist, Clay Aiken. From the first notes of 'Oh Holy Night', I knew I was in for a treat, but I had no idea how beautiful this CD would be. Clay Aiken's voice is utterly gorgeous.
All of the tracks on this CD offer their own unique pleasures. Clay has forever claimed 'Oh Holy Night' as his own; he captures the swelling notes with his trademark ease. 'Sleigh Ride' and 'Winter Wonderland' offer fun, upbeat vocal performances by Clay. 'Silent Night' is buttery soft and sweet; a beautiful rendition of a timeless classic. The medley of 'Hark/O Come' is a perfect blend of a gospel choir and Clay's distinctive voice. 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' is wonderful, as Clay captures both the melancholy nature of the carol and the sweet message contained in the song. A stand-out track is 'Mary, Did You Know' with its lusciously deep notes and reminder of what the season is truly about.
A truly gorgeous track is 'Don't Save It All for Christmas Day', an original song penned by Celine Dion. When sung by Clay, it has a soaring, sexy grandeur rarely found in Christmas songs. Another stand-out (reminiscent of Sinatra) is the playfully elegant 'What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?' The title track is destined to become a classic in its own right and is undeniably affecting. It will bring tears to your eyes; both from the subject of the song and the passion it is sung with.
I urge everyone (no matter what holiday you celebrate) to pick up a copy of this beautiful CD. The emotion will translate, I assure you - for that is the power of a talent like Clay Aiken's.
Free Music Review: The Gold Standard for Christmas CD's Hit: 5 Stars
I have nearly 100 Christmas cd's so I've heard just about every Christmas song that has been sung. After buying this cd, I listened to it for several weeks before sitting down to write a review. I wanted to see if I tired of it in that length of time. Did I? No, not in the least! Clay's version of O Holy Night is probably my favorite track on the cd. The song is sung in such a way that the true meaning of the words come through. Finally a version of this song that puts you in a true worshipful state of mind! Winter Wonderland, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, The Christmas Song, Silent Night, and the other classics are full bodied, yet gentle. They rope you in and keep you hanging on. Don't Save it All for Christmas Day and Mary Did You Know are two songs that are probably the best renditions I've ever heard of these songs. Though Celine was a writer for Don't Save it All and sings it wonderfully, I truly believe Clay has bested her on this one. Mary Did You Know? What can I say about that song? Truly, without a single doubt, Clay's version is the gold standard for this song. It has literally never been sung better. Sleigh Ride is just plain fun--without going overboard on cheesiness. Joy to the World makes you feel the true joy of the Christmas season. Merry Christmas With Love is full of the true love and spirit of Christmas and might possibly bring a tear to your eye. Clay finishes up with What Are You Doing New Years Eve which shows off the subdued power and yearning quality of his voice. This whole cd is gentle while powerful, haunting while joyous. Truly one of the best, if not the best, Christmas cd I own.
Free Music Review: Exquisite and Passionate Christmas CD Hit: 5 Stars
Clay Aiken's exquisite voice soars on this latest CD. His voice, although beautiful on MOAM, is GLORIOUS on "Merry Christmas with Love". His diction and enunciation are perfection. His tone is rich, breathtakingly gorgeous and his delivery of each song, pure, true, pitch perfect, crystal clear and passionate. What a voice!!! What a Man!!!
Of all the songs on this stellar CD, I particularly love "Merry Christmas with Love" and "Don't Save it All for Christmas Day". The meaning that he infuses with his phrasing and passion make these two songs new standards Clay style. "Mary Did You Know" is gloriously beautiful with his backup singers Conesha, Quiana, Jacob and Angela offering up rich and soaring vocals themselves on this deeply devotional song. Most of all Clay infuses these traditional songs with his crystalline bell tones and makes the old fresh and new.
When Clay sings "O Come All Ye Faithful" he makes even that song sound fresh with the powerful impact of the way he sings "Lord" at the end. His voice is full of joy and he even drops in a little southern groove from time to time. Clay understands the magic of placing surprises here and there in a song, and each time I listen to this CD I hear a little treat that I missed the first time around. A clever, creative, inspiring, magnificent artist.
After hearing his incredible range, gorgeous tone, glorious soaring voice, no question remains as to why Clay Aiken deserves to be the SuperStar that he is. Congratulations Clay. A constellation of stars for this CD.
Free Music Review: Aiken Raises The Bar Even Higher Hit: 5 Stars
Clay Aiken once again proves why he is the best Pop male vocalist. He continues to strive for greatness no matter what the nature of the project is. He always gives 100%. Some just don't possess the vocal creativity necessary to make a Christmas album interesting, but Clay does. He takes this album to a place where few could. You finally get to hear what a great range Clay actually has. Consider MOAM the 30 sec TV spot, MCWL the theatrical trailer, and guess what? We haven't even seen the feature yet. I genuinely believe that he's that good. Anyone who has been privileged enough to see any of the concert videos knows what I'm talking about. I would encourage people to buy MCWL because it's a breathtaking leap from his first CD. It's only been a year, but he's really improved and it shows. Clay Aiken isn't good at what he does, he's GREAT at it. He's a rare talent that only comes along every so often. Few recording artists have the ability to inspire, generate such a passionate following, and remain true to themselves. Clay Aiken has clearly succeeded in all three.

Free Music Review: Fantastic Christmas CD Hit: 5 Stars
This is a fantastic Christmas CD. It has most of the classic Christmas songs I like to hear. They were not changed to make them more modern; instead, they were well done with choir and orchestral backrounds and, of course, Clay's fantastic vocals.
This seems to be Clay's best offering so far, since he really gets to sing to his potential on the entire CD. In the past, on Measure of a Man (MOAM), it seemed he was being reigned in and not able to express himself up to his capability. But in this CD, he sounds as great as he does live, which wasn't the case on MOAM. The background vocals and music isn't too loud, so as to block out his voice, something which happened at times on MOAM, and something which ruined the single of This Is the Night/Bridge Over Troubled Water.
My favorites are Don't Save It All For Christmas Day, which he sings so warmly; Mary Did You Know, which I'd never hear before, but instantly loved; and O Holy Night, which has always been my favorite classic Christmas song and which he sings flawlessly.
My only negative would be I think he is singing in a bit higher register than his best range, which I feel is lower. He has a fantastic lower range, which isn't shown to it's potential in this CD (this was a complaint I had with MOAM, but MOAM also had the sometimes overpowering background vocals and music, and the vocals were stilted, as compared to this CD). But because the song choice is great, the music and background vocals are just right, and he sounds fantastic, I rate this highly.
