Free Music Review: A Festive Holiday With Clay Aiken
Hit: 5 Stars

"Merry Christmas With Love" is Clay Aiken's second album release and his Christmas album. Since receiving second place on "American Idol" season two, he has continually impressed millions with his soultry vocal talents. This rare gift within modern-day mainstream proves to have brought him far in his life and career as he deserves. This album is no acception. All songs were rearranged in composition to fit his vocal textures wonderfully. Its musical theme stays separate from all the past versions.

All eleven songs showcase his top potentials beautifully. He gives every song the passionate expression necessary. Regardless how many other artists have recorded these songs, he gives some new prospective to them and to the festive holidays. His beautiful voice blends wonderfully with the orchestra, the choir, and all the other backing melodies. Such substance gives listeners the extra good feeling during and close to the holidays. Few other young artists can level or exceed the quality of this album. Therefore, he's more than a past "American Idol" contestant.

"Merry Christmas With Love" gives Clay Aiken fans new reasons to love him. This is sure to continue pleasing listeners during every holiday season. Holiday album/s from Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Manheim Steamroller, Christina Aguilera, and Bing Crosby are other recommendations for those wanting more.

Free Music Review: Simply Sensational
Hit: 5 Stars

I recieved this as a gift from my very thoughtful son, and I have been listening to it every day since I received it. Clay has outdone himself with this one. There is not one clunker in the bunch, and the only one I would rate as "okay" instead of "great" is "Joy to the World". The background music drowns out his beautiful, clear tenor. I have not heard a more touching, perfect version of "Mary Did You Know?" from any other artist, and this is coming from someone who is a HUGE fan of Kathy Mattea's version. I would have bought this CD for this song alone. I literally get goosebumps when he sings the last note of the song. The CD ends with one of my all-time holiday favorites which I rarely hear, "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?". He does a fabulous job on this song as well. He does shine on some songs more than others, and while I think he did an excellent job on "O Holy Night", I personally don't feel anyone could top the incomparable Josh Grobin on that song. Clay's version, is quieter and less theatrical. Different is good! My only beef with the album is that it isn't longer...I would have loved to hear his take on "New Kid in Town". You don't have to be a Clay fan to love this CD. It is truly one of the best Christmas CDs I've ever owned, and I probably have at least 30 in my collection. If you love beautifully done holiday songs, I promise you won't be sorry you bought this CD!

Free Music Review: Unbelievable voice!
Hit: 5 Stars

I did not think that Clay could out-do "The First Noel" from the AI2 Christmas cd, but I was wrong. Overall, this cd is SPECTACULAR! Man, I cannot believe what an amazing voice Clay has! Crank up your stereo and listen to the perfection in Clays pipes. I especially LOVE the song "Mary did You Know." I also love the songs "Don't Save It All For Christmas Day" and "Silent Night." The only "lows" for me were not because of Clay... I think the production and the placement on the cd of "Joy to the World" was TERRIBLE! THE CHOIR WAS TOO LOUD. ARE YOU LISTENING RCA!? Clay does not need a bunch of background noise. PLEASE, let his voice be the star!!! And putting a jarring song like "Joy to the World" after the ethereal "Mary, did you know" was crazy! I also think the timing of the instrumentation on "The Christmas Song" in coordination with Clays singing seems to be a little off. In spite of those minor flaws, however, I enjoyed the rest of the cd immensely.

You should buy this cd though. Don't listen to stupid people who have not even listened to the cd, and who post stupid reviews. Listen to the cuts here on Amazon (although the cuts do not do justice to the cd at all) and decide for yourself.

Clay, if you read this, you did a WONDERFUL JOB! Thank you for gracing us with your beautiful voice and your caring spirit! :)

Free Music Review: A unique talent and first rate production
Hit: 5 Stars

Let me preface my comments by saying that I am not ordinarily a big fan of holiday offerings. In the past, the generic sameness of seasonal fare has left me less than enchanted and longing for the New Year.

This cd proved a rare and welcome exception. Mr. Aiken's voice, first and foremost, is the focus here. It is unique. And while his range is impressive and the alternately passionate and gentle deliveries noteworthy, it is difficult to point to one reason and say "Ah, that is why this cd drew me in and held me willingly captive."

Ensuring that Aiken's voice shines, the production is neither overbearing nor timid. Producers Afanasieff and Ramone (both coming to the project with impressive credentials) obviously treated this offering with care. It shows.

I'm sure everyone will have their own favorites; mine include the lesser-known tracks such as "Don't Save it All for Christmas Day", "Mary, Did You Know?" and the title track, "Merry Christmas With Love". These three songs alone are worth the price.

If you're a holiday music lover, I would wager that "Merry Christmas With Love" will become an instant favorite. If, like me, it's not normally your cup of tea--I would strongly suggest you set that bias aside and give this cd a chance to change your mind. I'm certainly glad I did.

Free Music Review: Finally! A Voice Worthy To Sing Christmas Classics
Hit: 5 Stars

I cannot even begin to express how much I love this CD. I don't know any singer who has been able to move me to tears as Clay Aiken has on this project. It is absolutely astounding the way he conveys emotion and passion with his voice. The production quality is top notch, finally producers figured out to let the voice remain the focal point.

FAVORITES

The First Noel - Easily the best rendition I have ever heard. This track sent chills up and down my spine. Perfection.

Mary Did You Know - One of the most beautiful Christmas songs ever written. Clay sings this song as if he is really singing to Mary. Tear inducing.

Don't Save It All For Christmas Day - My favorite track on the CD. Clay shows so much growth and maturity on this song. I think this performance is a preview of what we can expect from his next main stream CD. Total chill inducing perfection.

Sleigh Ride - I dare you to try and not smile during this song. Clay's phrasing here is pure joy.

Every song on this CD is wonderful. This new up and coming singer has the ability to transport you with his voice to another place. After hearing Clay Aiken cover these songs, I have a very hard time listening to other versions. Clay Aiken is definitely a talent to be reckoned with.
