Free Music Review: Want Two Amazing Ballads?

You came to the right spot on Amazon. Clay Aiken has a powerful voice and you can hear this stunning voice so clearly on Solitaire, especially after four minutes when he sings out one note so strong it may move you to tears. I believe this is THE American Idol, regardless if he didn't win. I don't think there has been talent on American Idol even close to Clay's honestly. And I know people will disagree, but when I heard Solitaire, I knew this was my ultimate American Idol.
I do not mean to neglect The Way though, for this is a beautiful song as well that I love, although Solitaire is stronger indeed. Yet they both are amazing ballads and Clay's voice shines on both. If you love these two songs then go out and get his full c.d., because there are other songs worth recognition on his c.d. definitely. The problem is they didn't put Solitaire on his official album so I had to buy the single. Solitaire is worth the money though. You won't regret it! Clay is truly talented and I eagerly await more from him!

... but that doesn't mean I can't take an objective look at Clay Aiken's The Way/Solitaire single. Singing Neil Sedaka's long awaited hit cover, Aiken does not disappoint. The musical production was way better than that of the This is the Night/Bridge over Troubled Water single. Aiken's voice is allowed to shine in this song; he caresses and meanders through each word with brilliant purity and elegance. The absence of backup vocals allows for the showcasing of Aiken's stunning range.
Aiken in turn sings with a surprising conviction, his voice tells the heartbreaking tale of a love lorn man with breathtaking emotion. All in all, a stellar song and a brilliant performance.
The Way, the A side of the single, somehow seems to pale in comparision. Not that it isn't any good, the memorable hook and melody will have you singing it in the shower. Once again, it is Aiken's vocals that carries the song through. I suppose it caters to the younger generation who might not appreciate Solitaire in its full measure.

Clay Aiken is like a deep breath of fresh air. He sings like an Angel, and has the ability to "touch" people with his magical voice. The words seem to flow out of him like honey, and ohhhh how sweet the sound. He's an amazingly beautiful person with class, charm, and tremendous talent. I'm so happy for him and his growing success despite the many obstacles that came in his way. I want to personally thank everyone involved with American Idol for giving us the phenomenon that is Clay Aiken. He is a one in a million, and definitely the most talented star of the millenium.SOLITAIRE is definitely Clay at his best (so far). It showcases his amazing voice beautifully. It leaves you breathless (as it should have left him after the 15 second "glory" note). It's a musical masterpiece that will become a classic. Words simply cannot describe the sheer beauty of this performance. It speaks for itself.

As an old Tina Turner song once said, Clay Aiken is "simply the best....better than all the rest." If you need proof that my statement is true, just go buy this CD and listen to the song "Solitaire." After you've heard that song, and especially the last minute or so of the song that begins with the breathtaking 15 second "glory note," I dare you to disagree with me! And if, for some unimaginable reason, hearing "Solitaire" isn't enough to convince you, go buy his full-length CD, "Measure of a Man." I'm telling you the truth - you won't find a bad song on that entire CD! They are all GREAT! Clay has this amazing ability to give me chills and bring a smile to my face every time I hear his incredible voice. And not only does he have an awesome voice, but he is such a caring and sweet person. Clay is the kind of artist we need to spend our money to support. So get out there and start buying his stuff!! If you caught Clay's performance of Solitaire on the March 17th American Idol, and think therefore that you know what he can do with this song, you need to listen to the single! (The Idol performance was not his best, and the normally unflappable Aiken even admitted to Seacrest afterwards that, uncharacteristically, he'd gotten a bit nervous waiting off-stage in the old Idol red room -- it showed, as he got off to a tentative start.) The TV version had also apparently been cut and pasted, to shorten it for the show. The actual song lasts nearly five and 1/2 minutes. If that seems like a long time to sit through one song, trust me -- you'll find yourself listening to it over and over and over again. Aiken's performance of Solitaire has got to be one the all-time best performances in Popular music EVER. This is a GREAT Performance, in the full historical sense of the word. Listen to history being made, and enjoy Clay's inspired and brilliant interpretation.
