Free Music Notes for In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3Free Music Review: An awesome rock CD! Hit: 5 Stars
INTRO: This CD (Along with the others) tells a story. The album is the third part (but second album released) of the ongoing saga of the Keywork. The lead singer is Claudio Sanchez, who has a strange but cool voice.
SONG LIST:
1. The Ring in Return: This is a music piece that begins with a ringing of a phone, then an instrumental.
2. In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3: A really great song with some awesome guitar playing. Great vocals.
3. Cuts Marked in the March of Men: Good song.
4. Three Evils (Embodied in Love and Shadow): Another good song. I like that the lyric booklet says, "The lyrics are part of a story and are not to be taken intentionally."
5. The Crowing: Another awesome song with a jungle-like beginning and great lyrics.
6. Blood Red Summer: A catchy song with some nice guitars and vocals.
7. The Velourium Camper I: Faint of Hearts: The CD says "Camper Velourim", but this is the correct name. Another great, strange song.
8. The Velourium Camper II: Backend of Forever: Great song.
9. The Velourium Camper III: Al the Killer: Great vocals, creepy lyrics, and awesome music!
10. A Favor House Atlantic: I love this song. But what's with the freaky end part? It sounds like something off The Ring.
11. The Light & The Glass: An awesome, creepy slow-moving song. Beautiful.
12-22. A Lot of Nothing: These are silent.
23. 21:23: A hidden track, and one of the best and longest songs. Great guitars and lyrics.
OVERALL: If you love Rock, this is a must have.
Free Music Review: A phenomenal journey of music and story... Hit: 5 Stars
This is one of my favorite CDs. I can listen to it in any mood or condition. I love almost every song on the CD. It is so different from other music of this time (partly because of Claudio Sanchez's insanely high-pitched vocals) but also because it is so talented and long when most music of today's main goal is to be in the TOP 40!!. In some of the songs the tempo will change and stuff like that that makes it so none of the songs are boring. There are some very catchy choruses in the album that you will find stuck in your head for days at a time. There is "emotion" in the album, but that doesn't mean you can classify it in the weak emo genre because it is so much more.
I can't really compare it to the Second Stage: Turbine Blade because I've not heard it yet, but I'm sure it's pretty good (if it's anything close to Silent Earth 3).
It is true that sometimes you might get bored. I usually skip The Light and the Glass because I'm not really partial to slow songs, but most of the CD is worth listening to. And it's definitely better than anything else of the time, so I'm not complaining.
SOme of my favorites on the CD are: Three Evils Embodied in Love and Shadow, Blood Red Summer, Velorium Camper: 1 & 3, A Favor House Atlantic, and 2113. That doesn't leave a whole lot and usually I only like two or three songs on a CD.
So, in conclusion, if you like good rock/alternative/progressive music, this is really good. And since progressive rock is getting pretty sparse these days, this CD is pretty unique. If you buy it, I can almost guarantee you will like it. If you don't, you can shoot me with a turret or something.
Free Music Review: One of the most amazing, diverse, and original rock albums today Hit: 5 Stars
I honestly think that this is one of the best rock albums you can possibly listen to. The tracks are so diverse, from upbeat rock, to fearful yet awesome tunes, to the mystical and gripping beginning and end. The transitions made between the music, as well as the use of story elements such as voices and sounds seamlessly interwoven make this album both an awesome story and an awesome listen.
The band itself is dripping with talent. The melodies and instrumentals as well as the vocals are some of the most original in rock. The actual lyrics are also deep and interesting because they narrate a larger epic story. The band also displays capability of capturing complex melodies in a seemingly simply fashion in songs such as 'The Crowing'. The sheer skill of the guitarists is apparant, as with the amazingly varied playing in songs like 'The Velorium Camper I'. There is a great mix of calm, upbeat, somber, and even angry tunes. The vocals sound like few other rockbands, mad props to Claudio.
If you're a fan of deep and interesting music that isn't difficult to appreciate, and a variety as well as progression in sound, you'll love Cohhed and Cambria's 'In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3'. My personal favorites were 'Three Evils (Embodied in Love and Shadow)' and 'Favor House Atlantic'. Don't be fooled by any titles, either. This band has a talent for making the darkest sounding titles and lyrics with extremely upbeat and catchy tunes. As others have said, it is impossible to actually describe the music in words, so you'd do yourself a favor to give them a listen yourself.
Free Music Review: Coheed singles belie their musical talent Hit: 5 Stars
Like some of the other reviewers, I wasn't a huge Coheed and Cambria fan in the beginning, and I believe this is mostly because their singles (most notably "A Favor House Atlantic") don't really do the band justice, though I think the same problem would occur with any song taken individually. Perhaps some would call this a weakness that the songs are more complete when taken as a part of the whole, but I think this is merely a testament to the prog rock roots that stablize what has now become a massive C&C movement. I received IKSOSE3 randomly from a friend just last year, and despite the fact that I hadn't been hugely impressed with AFHA, I was immediately taken with the vast range of music collected on this one album. Each song has it's own tone, and though Claudio Sanchez's voice takes some getting used to, this is easily overcome after just one or two full listenings. I was amazed by the intricacies of the music as a whole - the tempo and time signiture changes that blend beautifully with the guitars to create an amazing sound. The real point is that you need to experience the entire album to really appreciate C&C.
I actually only give this album 4.5 stars - mostly because of the obnoxious sqealing pig sound at the end of Three Evils. Just kidding - kind of. Really, I don't want to give it a full five stars simply because I think they are capable of so much more. And for those who are confused about the genre labels - why put so much stock in labels? If you really need a label, call it prog rock. That's at least close.
Free Music Review: Best Album EVER! Hit: 5 Stars
When a friend of mine first had me listen to Coheed & Cambria, I was very taken aback. At first, I really didn't like the band. I would even go so far to say that I hated Claudio's vocals. For some strange reason, however, I find myself comic back to the CD over and over again. I began downloading songs, and eventually they made their way into my various playlists. Coheed grew on me to the point of addiction. I began to appreciate Claudio's high-pitched voice, realizing this was his natural God-given voice, not the strained pitch that you often hear with bands like Thursday and AFI. I bought this CD, then followed it with Second Stage Turbine Blade. I have to say that this CD is far better, although SSTB is also worth purchasing. If you are considering this CD, I stronly recommend purchasing it. Every person in the band is immensely gifted at what they do. The songs are so rich and complex that it will make you question everything else you listen to. Some songs stretch out to 7 or 8 minutes, changing their pace and rhythm several times. I can honestly say this is the best CD I have ever owned.
Another bonus is the fact that there is a pretty cool sci-fi story to go along with every song, seeing as how Coheed is a concept band. This makes for very intriguing and strange lyrics. Coheed is also amazing live. They really know how to rock out for their fans. I listen to this CD the whole way through pretty much every day, and I never grow tired of it. Every song is so well put together. Coheed rocks!
