Free Music Review: Good Album, Good DVD (Neither are Great)
Hit: 4 Stars

Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World For Tomorrow overall is a fantastic album. Personally, I do not feel that this album is as strong lyrically or melodically as In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3 or Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness. I do have quite a few favorites from this album ("No World For Tomorrow", "Feathers", "The Running Free", "Mother Superior"), and they certainly rank among the top of my favorite Coheed And Cambria songs. But it is not as powerful overall as I would have liked it to be.
I can only hope that, when I do sit down and take the time to really learn and understand the story of Coheed And Cambria, I will like the ending better than I do now. As it stands, In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3 is still, by far, my favorite album by this band.
Then again, I am not a member of Coheed And Cambria, it is not my story to tell; it is Claudio's. They deserve all the fame and fortune they have received, and this album does not set them back at all. In fact, it is an album that any Coheed And Cambria fan MUST pick up.
As far as the DVD is concerned; the footage was shorter than some other bands' DVD documentaries, and the rest of the DVD does not fill in the space. So where it's short, it's a very cool look into their recording process, and it's nice to see them play some of the hits from this album on DVD. Note: There are only a few songs overall that are played within the DVD. I especially loved a look into "Mother Superior", and also enjoyed their early acoustic performance of this song.
They also provide some Demo recordings of earlier songs: "Cuts Marked In The March Of Men", "A Favor House Atlantic", "From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness", "The Suffering", and "Always & Never / Welcome Home". They all are quite interesting, but certainly not as well mixed and superior as their studio recording counter parts (naturally). The only downside to the Demo's are the effects they put into the songs. Where they are interesting images, it gets extremely repetitive.
Again, if you are a fan of Coheed And Cambria, I will highly recommend the Deluxe version of No World For Tomorrow. The DVD is worth the extra cash.

Free Music Review: Coheed releases another great CD
Hit: 4 Stars

Coheed and Cambria is a progressive rock band. No World for Tomorrow is their 4th full length CD. Many people compare the singer's voice to the singer of Rush - very high pitched. The 4th CD includes a great DVD that has alot of behind the scenes footage, music videos, and more. I really enjoyed watching the making of which shows alot of what goes into a CD. The CD has some great standout tracks including "The Hound," "Gravemakers and Gunslingers," and "Mother Superior." The singer's voice is high pitched, which many people might now like. One thing I don't like about this CD is the ending. Many Coheed CDs have an very epic feeling, and I really feel like the last track was lacking in that department. Overall I'd highly recommend this to anyone who lives Coheed, progressive rock, or maybe someone who is a fan of Rush.

Free Music Review: Best modern band
Hit: 4 Stars

Lets face it, out of all their albums, this is probably my least favorite. Having said that, C&C is the only thing keeping my faith in rock music alive. You know that rock music is about dead when the biggest thing in rock music is horrible bands like the Jonas Bros. and Hannah Montana. Really C&C is the only modern bad I listen to, and that's because they are the only ones that come close to sounding like real rock bands like Rush and Yes. Lets face it, 70's progressive rock music is the only real music out there. Don't listen to people who say that Fall Out Boys are a good band, or that My Chemical Romance are a good band. Anyone who says that really don't know music at all.

Free Music Review: Good, not Great Coheed and Cambria effort.
Hit: 4 Stars

No World for Tomorrow is a really good album. Definately worth checking out. A few cuts such as "Running Free" are almost certainly going to be radio favorites. I have all of the Coheed albums thus far and although I love their music, I have no clue of the storyline. I haven't picked up the comics and haven't talked to anyone who can explain what's going on. That aside, they are extremely talented musicians and Claudio is an excellent front man and song writer. In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth is still my favorite cd by the band so far. This one ranks just below Good Apollo. But just barely. Give NWFT a chance. You won't be disappointed.

Free Music Review: Great album, but not their best
Hit: 4 Stars

Coheed and Cambria are one of my favorite bands and I love all of their albums. However, No World for Tomorrow does not compare to the others. There is very little of the progressive element on this album that made Co&Ca's previous albums so unique. It also sounds a little too mainstream. I still love the album, though.

The bonus dvd contains a slide show, for all of you who like pictures, a "making of" that I found quite interesting, but slightly lacking and a couple acoustic performances. To be honest, I haven't viewed the acoustics yet, so I can't say much about them.

If you like this band, you'll like this album.
