Free Music Notes for No World For TomorrowFree Music Review: Coheed is for today and tomorrow... Hit: 5 Stars
Once again this band has created a timeless rock masterpiece. For me, trying to choose a favorite Coheed album is futile. This band progresses with their music, mixes influences from their favorite bands into the songs, yet still manages to sound distinctly Coheed and Cambria.
This album is full of the typical catchy C&C riffs and choruses but also incorporates different styles not yet explored on previous albums. Claudio has a lot more variance in his vocal performance than on any other album and thus I think he has improved as a singer. The previous 'Good Apollo' album bears the most resemblence but 'No World' is overall more upbeat - having shorter simpler song arrangements without lacking any of the wonderfully weird and complex Coheed sound. Any fan of the band should be satisfied with this latest offering - if not blown away by it.
RECOMMENDATION: If you care about the packaging then make sure to purchase the deluxe edition. This edition is just the CD in a sleeve with no lyrics. The extra money may be worth it for the lyrics, the artwork, and the DVD.
Free Music Review: Dissapointed But Impressed Hit: 5 Stars
Damn, but this is a powerful CD! This is arguably the most impressive piece of work Ive seen from this band. I stood in line at 7am to get a copy of this the day it came out, bought the bonus edition and popped it right into my car stereo system. For the next hour or so I just drove and listened. This is completely different from anything they have done before, which is both a blessing and a curse. More of a blessing I think, because it still manages to sound damn good.
Claudios vocals have matured, the guitars sound better than they ever have. It definetly has its own presence. Its a perfect end to the legend of Coheed and Cambria. And yet...
If youve been a fan since the beginning, youll see its no Second Stage Turbine Blade. The band has pretty much abandoned their punk roots to go completely into a blend of prog rock, keys, and 80's riffs. A fitting end, but I wish it were just beginning!
Free Music Review: No End To There Talent. Hit: 5 Stars
I have been listening to Co&Ca since IKSSE:3 and I truly believe that in 20 years people will talk about Co&Ca as one of the greatest rock bands of all time. I don't agree with the reviews that say Coheed have lost what made them great, just the opposite in fact. If you you listen to all the albums from start to finish you can hear the evolution in their sound. This album just culminates everything they've been doing. The guitars are killer and really show the talent and musianship of Claudio and Travis. You can feel how epic the story is in the chords. It's a simply amazing rock album. Definite favorite songs: Gravemakers & Gunslingers, Mother Superior, and On The Brink. Can't wait to see there new live show.
Free Music Review: was skeptical at first.. Hit: 5 Stars
but i am now a great believer in Coheed and Cambria. Most bands wilt entirely after their sophmore album but not Coheed!! Theyre here for the long haul people. The CD's just keep getting better and better and better! Do not pass this album up if you like any of Coheed and Cambria's previous albums at all.. even just a little bit, because this has to be their most solid album yet. I'm in utter disbelief that they were able to pull this off and i bow in their presence for creating such an amazing album. This is a sign of a truly amazing band and this is one truly amazing CD!
Free Music Review: Best Coheed CD So Far Hit: 5 Stars
Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV: Volume II: No World for Tomorrow is by far Coheed's best album yet. Being the last CD in the story it creates a almost perfect conclusion to the epic concept created by the past CD's. Gravemakers and Gunslingers is by far one of the greatest Coheed songs to date. While I would of liked to hear Chris Pennie on the drums, Taylor Hawkins was a good substitute. This album should be owned by any fan of Coheed. Heck any fan of rock music in general should own this album.
