Free Music Notes for The Second Stage Turbine BladeFree Music Review: An album apart Hit: 5 Stars
Though often mistakenly taken for emo because of Claudio Sanchez's depressed narrative from the point of view of Coheed and Cambria's leads, it needs to be reiterated that this band is most definately not 'emo'. With that said, Co&Ca's first major album is a stand-out album amongst a scene of tired music and bands that don't ever surface to have staying power in the annals of true music. I think most intelligent listeners have been waiting for a rock band that has the inspiration of older bands and less of the mindless pop appeal.
SSTB's tracks are very stirring, and though they have a similar bent of a feeling akin to hoplessness at times, yet each carries with it a unique emotional and narrative sensation. Even the premise itself of SSTB--a dystopic future in which protagonists Coheed, his wife Cambria, and their children must rebel against a corrupt galactic government--is irresistable because of the dynamism through which it's told. To execute this musical feat, the band displays surprising technical ability, from the power of the bass to Claudio's stunning and very unique-sounding voice (which goes anywhere from almost childlike to absolutely venomous). I highly reccomend this album for anyone who wants music that's not only powerful, but entertaining, thought-provoking, and enjoys a high 're-listen' factor. You'll have it on your most played for sure!
At times the lyrics seem either abstract or offensive to some (especially in further albums) but they have to be taken in context, as they tell the epic story of characters in a faraway removed reality. This album is a definite-must if you want an entirely new audio experience that harkens back to forgotten roots!
Free Music Review: Best album in years! Hit: 5 Stars
Okay, everyone says these guys are "emo" and whatnot, but they are more than emo. They are like the most influential band ever, this band is what got me into the band I am in right now. Also, this CD is WAY better than IKSSE3. This is just... well... better. Claudio's voice has never had an affect on me, aven when I first heard them. The bass is what intrigued me. Playing bass, naturally I hear the bass lines, and pick up on them, and these are just amazing. I think you should hear this one after IKSSE3, not because IKSSE3 is better, just I don't think you are ready for SSTB, until you get bored of IKSSE3. Anyway, this one is better
Time Consumer(9/10)- one of the best songs on the album... good bass line.
Devil In Jersey City(6/10)- This song gets stale quickly...
Everything Evil(10/10)- Maybe one of their best songs, love the breakdown at the end.
Delirium Trigger(8/10)- Okay song, works for me.
Hearshot Kid Disaster(7/10)- Sort of good song, good riffs
33(8/10)- Used to love this song, also got kinda stale... okay bass line.
Junesong Provision(8/10)- Pretty good song, I enjoy when Claudio goes so high... it's like off the charts... it's sort of amusing.
Neverender(9/10)- Good song... I get a tingle in my stomach when I hear "Forget your son, he's off on his own." I dunno weird...
God Send Conspirator(8/10)- not a really "stand-out" song... but pretty good.
I Robot(bonus Track)(10/10)- Claudio sounds really good acoustic... and the song is sort of remade on IKSSE3.
There's my review... hope it has influenced you!

Free Music Review: One of the strongest albums ever Hit: 5 Stars
I re-bought the album upon re-release when the Special Limited edition came out and I must say, I like the original version better, which is why I am reviewing this version (plus I already reviewed the special limited edition :-P)
This is Co&Ca's debut album, and is one of the best albums ever. Claudio's voice stuns me like no other. He has such a fascinating voice, which sounds even better live! This debut album proves Coheed's talent.
Some of the best songs:
TIME CONSUMER:
One of the songs by the band that starts off soft then kicks in with the prog-rock, and is really well done. I like the lyrics, and the bridge is good too. Claudio's voice is really simply stunning too here; he hits the high notes and sounds just right!
EVERYTHING EVIL:
Starts out as a brutal song with brutal lyrics, including "Blood hungry cannibalistic human family ties". It adapts to the story that the disc tells very well. I like how the song completely changes direction near the end too, fits very well.
JUNESONG PROVISION:
Beautful lyrics, mixed with catchy beats make this the perfect Coheed song. The boy is on his journey now. I like the lyric I won't be coming home when you get this, I'll be dead."
Other cool songs include:
Delirium Trigger
33
Godsend Conspirator, which has a very 'The Ring'-esque piano rendition of "The Ring in Return" before leading into "IRO-bot".
The rest of the album is great too. I own 3 of their albums, I have yet to buy NWFT, which I will buy tomorrow, so expect a review.
Overall, great album, and essential listening!
Free Music Review: Masterpiece Hit: 5 Stars
Coheed And Cambria really delivered a fantastic debut album with "Second Stage Turbine Blade". I really think that this album is a masterpiece. I remember listening to it right when it came out and people were disregarding it as a "rush" wannebe. But i stuck with it and look at them now, all over mtv and mtv2. This cd in my opinion is alot better then there sophomore album "IKSOSE:3". "Second Stage Turbine Blade" is jsut way more heartfelt and heavy. You can tell that claudio really trys to get through points in his songs by using a wide range of lyrics and pitches in his voice.
The Good: This whole cd is good. There are songs on here that make u want to get up and dance, and then other songs on here just make u want to lay back and listen to the music carefully. Its sort of a emotion i cant describe.
Best Songs: "Time Consumer", "Everything Evil", "Junesong Provision", "God Send Conspirator"
The Bad: Well its true Claudio's voice is a very high pitched at times, so that might throw of some people that arent willing to take a chance on them because of that. Other than that little tidbit i cant think of anything.
Worst Songs: none of them are bad but "Second Stage Turbine Blade" isnt even a song its an intro so i find myself skipping it. And Also "Devil In Jersey City" is a great song however its a little to upbeat and can sometimes feel out of place.
The Bottom Line: "Second Stage Turbine Blade" is a masterpiece that i dont see Coheed And Cambria ever matching again, judging from there newest cd. Suggested to anyone that likes the "emocore" stuff thats floating around nowadays.
Free Music Review: One of the Greatest CDs of All Time Hit: 5 Stars
SSTB is by far one of the greatest CDs of all time. Coheed and Cambria is a heavily under rated band, and this and Good Apollo vol. 1 are the two best CDs by them.
The album starts with a simple but cool instrumental called "Second Stage Turbine Blade", segments of which appear in the other CDs as well.
"Time Consumer" has an awesome introduction and meaningful lyrics. It describes the death of the Kilgannon children.
"Devil in Jersey City" was the band's first big song, it has an awesome melody and describes a rape scene, good stuff.
"Everything Evil" is another awesome song, it describes Josephine being killed by the hands of Coheed by a hammer.
"Delirium Trigger" Just listen to this song, it's just to good!
"Hearshot Kid Disaster" This song is about Claudio meeting a 'star' named Hearshot Kid, it's another awesome song.
"33" Holy crap, I can't wait to Mosh to this when I go see them. It describes Patrick being attacked by an onstained priest, too awesome.
"Junesong Provision", there are two versions of this, a metal and acoustic. Both are awesome songs, with solid lyrics. 'Dear Newo Ikken, how's Apollo been treating you?'.
"Neverender" My theme song, freaking awesome. It desctived Maria's head being held up by the dictator Wilheim Ryan 'the world's not big enough for the both of us'.
"God Send Conspirator" This song is characters looking back on the events that have just transpired.
"IRO-BOT (hidden track)" Another good song. 'IRO-BOT will never die'
A solid CD for any Prog-Rocker's collection!
