Free Music Notes for Robbers & Cowards

Free Music Review: Highly original, extremely creative, very addictive
Hit: 5 Stars

Pay NO attention to what is written by Jedd B. up top there. If there were ever more false statements made about a band, I haven't heard them. The Kids are nothing like anything out there now, or ever. Robbers & Cowards is brilliant, brilliant, different music made by 4 talented Californians. Full of interesting lyrics that tell stories I want to hear, this album's songs are nothing short of enthralling. The music is tight, and each song is its own little masterpiece. Hang Me Up To Dry drew me in, the rest of the tunes kept me coming back for more & more. Love the piano, love Nathan's singing. Love the energy & the intention in every song.

Free Music Review: First half of cd is awsome, the rest is ok.
Hit: 4 Stars

As a prog rocker, I'm used to a little more change up in songs on an album. Although a lot of the songs sound the same, but different enough to hold my interest. Makes me want to hear thier next cd.

Free Music Review: The BEST I've heard in a long time!
Hit: 5 Stars

Caught HMUTD accidentally on Letterman one night and had to find out more. Went to Youtube and listened to everything I could find. Can't get enough of Nathan's voice-so powerful and soulful. Very thoughtful songs-WUTV title meaning was obvious first time I heard the line "I promise to my wife and children..." Being sober myself-I've told myself all of those excuses before. All in all, I am smitten and can't wait to see them later this month at Sasquatch-I'll be tha black chick at the front sporting my recovery paraphernalia! RAWK ON!!!

Free Music Review: Just like the Amazon.com Review
Hit: 3 Stars

I have to hand it to Jedd Beaudoin (who wrote Amazon's review of this CD)... he nailed it as far as I'm concerned. I heard "Hang Me Up to Dry" on Pandora and liked it enough to want to hear more. I liked the first few tracks quite well and thought, as others have pointed out, that they do sometimes sound a lot like the Walkmen. By the time I got to around track 6 (Saint John), I was rapidly losing interest and getting tempted to skip through the remaining tracks. Soon the vocals were, indeed, grating and I was ready to move on. Still, those first couple songs are catchy enough to get 3 stars from me.

Free Music Review: See Them Live
Hit: 5 Stars

I got this album on a whim, and I've gotta say that I loved every second of it. I can't say there is a song on there that I don't either love or like a whole lot. But I can say that the big single from this, Hang Me Out To Dry, isn't even close to one of the best songs on the album. Robbers, We Used To Vacation, Saint John, and more are all phenomenal tracks and should be checked out if you're undecided on buying the cd.

I'll also say that when these guys came around to philly it was one of the best shows I've seen in a very long time. I went with a group of people that were split between never hearing a single track from them, and others who knew the album by heart, and everyone had a real good time. I went from loving this album to loving this band in one night.
