Free Music Notes for GoldFree Music Review: He Still Has Endless Love Hit: 4 StarsIt is always amazing to me, when a older artist has a much better feeling for great pop music these days. That has been the case so many great acts within the past few years like Rod Stewart, Sting and Elton John. Nevertheless, when it still is the showcase of artists and love ballads, Lionel Richie remains supreme. Throughout the 70's as a member of The Commodores, and in the 80's on his own, he has been a dominant force as a composer and a influential singer/songwriter. Although his career fizzled down in the 90's and today, his older tracks are still as popular then as they are now.
Lionel Richie & The Commodores Gold, is a double album reflection of Lionel's days on his own and as the prime writer and performer from The Commodores. The album delivers well at showcasing Lionel and his vast variety of some of the best Motown songs around then and now. The collection delivers a lot of great pop songs like standards Endless Love with Diana Ross, All Night Long, Dancing On The Ceiling, Penny Lover, the oscar-winning Say You Say Me from Whit Nights, and much more. The album also showcases Lionel's days with The Commodores well with classics the infamously irrestible Brick House, Three Times A Lady, Still, and Sail On and Easy. Although the album is mainly about Lionel, the album still does overshadow some great classic songs from The Commodores like their classic track Nightshift, and some great Lionel tracks like Time, and his recently relased single Just For You.
All in all, Lionel Richie & The Commodores happens to be a well conjured hits collection for die hard Lionel Richie fans, or anybody who doesn't own a Lionel Richie or Commodores record. I still loves those classic songs, and if you do, truly do, Lionel Richie & The Commodores Gold sail on and get this collection.

Free Music Review: Together again, at length Hit: 4 StarsFans of Lionel Richie and the Commodores better brace themselves for a long listening experience. This CD contains 32 songs, most of them above the normal length, spanning from the 1974 Commodores album "Machine Gun" to the 2001 Lionel Richie album "Renaissance".
Here are some examples:
All Night Long - 6:22
Do It To Me - 6:05
Sweet Love - 6:35
Three Times a Lady - 6:40
Still - 5:50
Just To Be Close to You - 6:24
Zoom - 7:05
Jesus Is Love - 6:05
All Lionel Richie's familiar songs are there, except perhaps "Se La" which is a notable omission, but the album also includes some less popular tracks such as "My Destiny" and "Love Oh Love" from Back to Front (1992). Most of the Commodores old favorites are included, and the `70s tracks will have you looking for your disco shoes.
This one is worth adding to your collection if you're a fan of these performers.

Free Music Review: Great Music from the Master of the Ballad Hit: 5 StarsNo one writes love songs like Lionel Richie. "Oh No," "Still," "My Love," "Truly"... the list goes on. All are here in fantastic remastered sound.
It's great to have Richie's solo hits mixed with Commodores classics. At 80 minutes apiece, these discs give you a lot of music for your money. It would have been nice to include hits that are missing, such as "Se La," "Still in Love" and "Just for You," but there was simply no room. At their expense, you get full-length album tracks of all the songs. It's worth the trade-off; the tunes sound great. "Warning: All songs are album length" is ridiculous. This is the way the music was meant to be heard.
Nearly every tune here is a classic. Buy this!
Free Music Review: Richie, the greatest artist of the 20th? Hit: 5 StarsJust keep your head down and work hard.
Even if you don't aspire to write songs like Richie, it will just work out.
Grab a shaker like in "Sail On"- Track 4: Disc 2
And do it.
Next. Be sure to get a good night's rest and believe in everyone.
