First off let me just say that I'm not a big fan of Common at all. I thought "Be" was one of the most overrated albums of 2005. I found it to be dull, boring, and unappealing. I'm one of those "trend followers" as some of you "real hip hop" fans might say. However I did listen to this album and enjoyed it. The production was good and Common's lyrics were very well written. However just because I enjoyed this CD doesn't mean I'm going to stop listening to "gangsta" rap(I'm listening to Project Pat as I type this). However I can say that this is a good album and I can recommend it.Free Music Review: Save Hip-Hop. Turn of the radio and buy this album

For all you real hip-hop heads, isn't ironic that you gravitate to an artist named Common just to hear something different from today's norm?
From a real Common fan to the next, this is a solid album. With each track, he demonstrates how "people-centric" lyrics will always resonate deeper than your typical top 10 rap song. Buy it...love it...tell a friend.

first and formost let me start out by saying( i am a HIP HOPPER) so if you think that Nelly is a better rapper than KRS-ONE, enter tha stage was corney, BE was common first good album, don't know who the artist formerly known as sense is, or have no clue to any of the references i just mentioned , skipp this reveiw...
THIS ALBUM IS FIRE. If you are a common fan you will really enjoy this album as i do. i only skipped 2 songs on here but other than that the beats are refreshing (and i don't like kanye)and the lyrics play the part. out of all of his albums i put this as his second best album next to "one day it will all make sense" so support this good brotha and good hip hop... oh yeah his father does not disaapoint either.

...But still very good. While it's hard to top "BE", this album could've been better. The first half of the album is way better than the last half. Plus the new version of "so far to go" ain't as good as the original on the J Dilla's album. Still a great record though...
