Free Music Notes for Finding Forever

Free Music Review: Buy it. It's just common sense...
Hit: 5 Stars

You read reviews to find out what other people think about a album that you're undecided about. So here goes:

I'm a 32 year old husband and father of two, and I was born and raised in the Bronx. Self-explanatory, I was born with hip-hop. Though I still breathe hip-hop, lyrically and content wise, it doesn't resonate personally unless you're hustling in the trap or you're a pimp. I'm neither. FINDING FOREVER is as intelligent an album you're going to hear this year.

It's the ultimate rap album. Insane beats, with real world statements.(No shoulder leaning, two stepping or shuckin' and jivin')

It's the reason you loved A Tribe Called Quest or Public Enemy.

If you love hip-hop, buy it.

If you love neo-soul, buy it.

If you love beats to bang in your car, buy it.

It's the best rap album you will hear this year, I promise you. If you think I'm wrong. Post a response and tell me so.

How a man 15 years in the game does an album like this is incredible. Common's musical and lyrical maturity should embarrass cats like Jay-Z and LL Cool J, who know better, and put out subpar material anyway.

I wish I could give this album 8 stars.

Free Music Review: I love love looove Common-For REAL hip-hop fans only!
Hit: 5 Stars

I've always been a huge fan of Common (except for Electric Circus which I'm sure he and his fans would like to forget about). I loved "Be" and I think "Finding Forever" is of equal quality but also very different. It's more mellow (nothing comparable to "Go!"), except for "The Game" which is much harder than "The Corner". The point is I would agree with another reviewer that "Be" and "Finding Forever" can't really be compared...they both show different sides of Common. Some people have complained that some songs on his newest album are dull, but maybe they are listening to too many songs like "Coffee Shop", "Wipe Me Down", "Tat It Up"...you get my point--hot beats but ignorant nonsense.

Common is the essence of what hip-hop used to be and SHOULD be. He's 35 years-old, so no he's not going to come with some club-bangers with crass content b/c he's a father, a spiritual person, and beyond all of that. He's evolved as an artist and gets better with time. If you want some real hip-hop that makes you feel good and has real lyrical content, this album is actually worth the money...DON'T BOOTLEG IT!

Free Music Review: 6 Stars without a doubt
Hit: 5 Stars

I have been waiting for this album for months now. In anticipation i have been playing BE which is also a 6 star album. I waited outside of circuit city yesterday morning for about 30 minutes before it opened to grab a copy. I put it on and... ::speechless:: This album sets the bar for every album that comes out this year and forever more. You would think he wouldnt be able to out do what he accomplished on BE and he does that and way more. With hypnotic melodies created by Kanye and Will.I.Am on I Want You this album is without a doubt a classic. It's only 12 tracks but it flows so perfectly that you wouldn't want another song and have to resort to putting it on repeat multiple times. The only album I believe can come close to this is quality and pure raw inspiration and talent are Talib Kweli's Ear Drum and Kanye's Graduation. However, what Common has done here is solidified himself as one of the top 5 Best MC's all time with his dogged longevitivy and perserverance to contine to put out true HIP HOP and most of high grade natural unadulterated MUSIC buy this today

Free Music Review: Southside Chicago Does it Right.
Hit: 5 Stars

In the hip-hop/rap world, there are only a handful of folks who have longevity and receive the appropriate accolades from peers as well as the general public. Finding Forever is quality music, with quality production and good lyrics. Common has been in the game for a long time, and each album is a progression of who he is and where he's been. This album picks up where Be left off, however, I think he may have played it a little safe. I think Common was a little more pissed off at the world, (but in a backpacker way) during the making of Be. Here some of the anger at the world's problems are just a tad more subtle, but listen carefully, and you will hear the insight into the poverty, gangs, drugs, and war that exists in the world today. Love is theme that Common wants to explore, but may not know to express (track "I Want You") The Game is a testimony to how dope Common really is...he slays other wannabe mc's. DJ Premier hooks that track up lovely. What I love more than anything is how well Common always reps Chicago, particularly the Southside.

Free Music Review: 'With 12 monkeys on the stage its hard too see whose the Gorilla....'
Hit: 5 Stars

Much like 'Be'..and all of Common's music it is too be listened to, absorbed, thought about and rocked too all at the same time. Yes it has beats, Yes you can move to it, but it is such a great thought out crafted piece of work. True artistry at it best is what Common delivers on this CD and he always does. I Rock all day, everyday since I got on 7/31. My favorites are Misunderstood..because so very many of us are, and not given the chance to reach that level of understanding either by choice or because someone decided to take our voice from us. Another standout is 'I want you'..so many hot girls but he needs her warmth(it's nice to know that "warmth" is said, spoken and appreciated). Thanks Common for continuing to put out a good product, good sounds, Real music. Common's Finding Forever is conscious music; smooth beats and we can rock to it too, but at the same time moves our minds and help elevate us to a new place. It is worth the buy - not the burn!!
