Free Music Notes for Finding ForeverFree Music Review: Perfect Hit: 5 Stars
I personally thought "BE" was solid if unspectacular, but "Finding Forever" is without a flaw. I'm on my 3rd copy already because people will not give this CD back if you loan it out, so be forewarned! There is simply not a bad song in this entire bunch and picking favorites is really beside the point, but I will tell you the moment I fell in love with this insta-classic, when the bass and background vocals drop out on "U, Black Maybe" and Common starts his spoken-word confessional over a simple backdrop of bongos, about the persecution we face from other people including "your own", I cried. Another highlight is the superb "I Want You" produced by and featuring wil.i.am. on an addictive chorus. Props to Kanye West for his great contributions, my favorite being the classic ear-rattling boom-bap on the opener "Start The Show". This is the best 'real' hip hop album since last year's "Game Theory" by his comrades The Roots. Essential listening.

Once again Common comes with a ridiculously consistent and solid album. just like BE, there arent any holes in the tracklisting. My Favorite songs are "The People", "Drivin Me Wild" (LILY), "Misunderstood" and "Forever Begins". Great production from Kanye, Dilla "So Far To Go" (which is featured on The Shining) and Devo Springsteen "Misunderstood".
I would rank this tied for third in Common's catalogue (which is very impressive) with Be and behind Resurrection and Like Water For Chocolate.
Free Music Review: Another Triumph for a Top-Tier Emcee Hit: 5 Stars
Common solidified his place in the highest eschelon of hip-hop emcees long before this latest effot. However, he continues to prove himself and has found a nice niche with fellow Chi-Native Kanye West on the boards. The flow of this album could almost be construed as a B-Side to 2005's "Be." Very similar pace and production.
"Start the Show", "The Game," and "So Far to Go f. D'Angelo" (which first appeared on the legendary J-Dilla's posthumous album "The Shining") all highlight this album, while "The People" is no doubt the banger of the album with a beat so nasty you'll listen to it repeatedly the first time your ears are so priviledged.
I'd say more, but you should probably just go get the album now.
5/5 Stars.
Free Music Review: BannanaZ Hit: 5 Stars
first and formost let me start out by saying( i am a HIP HOPPER) so if you think that Nelly is a better rapper than KRS-ONE, enter tha stage was corney, BE was common first good album, don't know who the artist formerly known as sense is, or have no clue to any of the references i just mentioned , skipp this reveiw...
THIS ALBUM IS FIRE. If you are a common fan you will really enjoy this album as i do. i only skipped 2 songs on here but other than that the beats are refreshing (and i don't like kanye)and the lyrics play the part. out of all of his albums i put this as his second best album next to "one day it will all make sense" so support this good brotha and good hip hop... oh yeah his father does not disaapoint either.
Free Music Review: Absolutely flawless... Hit: 5 Stars
This is easily one of the best albums I've ever heard.
I became a Common fan after 2005's wonderful Be. After I heard that I got the rest of his catalogue...
This CD is amazing...
It flows so well, and it's one of the few CD's I own that lets me play it from end to end w/o any skipping.
I can't say enough about the homie...
Common is truly an inspiration...
Especially considering the fact that we live in an age where the dope dealing, misogynistic, violent, ignorant mofo's are pretty much all you hear on the radio.
I bet that the radio won't play Common's stuff...
Wouldn't want to educate the masses or anything, eh?
Gotta keep them ignorant...
