01 intro - not feeling this. Has a mellow feel to it
02 start the show - not the best collab between Common and Kanye
03 the people - The single. Fire!!
04 drivin' me wild - takes awhile to get used to. Hot track
05 i want you - Stand out track (Produced by Will.i.am)
06 southside - chorus was annoying at first, but i got used to it. Dope track
07 the game - another banger
08 U, black maybe - a real mellow and smooth track - nice
09 so far to go - good track. Also featured on J-Dilla's "The Shining"
10 break my heart - Great song - consistently on repeat
11 misunderstood - not bad, but not in the top 5 on the album
12 forever begins - I love everything about this track except for "Common's Pops" talking at the end

I purchased this album with great anticipation (since it was rated 5 stars by 70+ customers...) but this album was a HUGE disappointment. Besides "The People" this album has nothing. (I wouldn't recommend it)

I shouldn't be too surprised. Common always delivers on the mic to me. He always has something to talk about. Common is one of the most intelligent mc's out there today. Thought invoking concepts, ill rhymes, dope lyrics. I say the only downsides to this album has to be the production. Some of the tracks tend to lose a bit of that energy that makes you want to bob your head. He makes up with the lyrics though. But it took a feel listens. U, black maybe is possibly the best example. I had to hear this track a few times. Southside was a good collabo with Kanye. But Common was the pitbull on this.
The last three songs tend to slow the album down a bit for me. Still overall to me, its a very good album and I like alot of the tracks. This album is not as good as BE to me. But its a breath of fresh air, and for me it was the remedy to my ears after hearing a couple of lackluster albums.

Put the best of this and "BE" together and you'd have a near perfect album. Kanye brought his production to another level and together created almost a sound for common. Lyrically common, a lot of passion behind the music as usual, some good singles. Free Music Review: Not bad

Not a bad album, worth buying. Deffinately not Common's best, I actually liked Be more than this one. Production on "People" and "So Far to Go" are worth the purchase alone.
Lyrics are good compared to many other rappers, but just average for Common. Nothing more to say.
