Free Music Notes for Company (2006 Broadway Revival Cast)Free Music Review: Company? Hit: 1 StarsThis recording is not great company. I'm really confused: is it a Broadway recording or a very poor amatuer recording? And if so, did this rubbish actually make it to the Broadway stage? I feel for the people that saw it, and were expecting the rich full melodies that Sondheim produced for this show. The Musical Director for this abomination should be called a Mutilation Director, because that is precisely what he did to the music of this show. So the only advice I give to future Musical Directors that want to revive and revamp a show: If it's not broke, please, please, please don't try and fix it! Some things are just perfect the way they are. Don't buy this CD. I did and it is now a coaster where it gets better use.
Free Music Review: Excellent Performance Hit: 5 StarsMusic sounds great although it can't capture the really extraordinary aspect of this show. That is, that the actors are ALSO the musicians.
Free Music Review: this play was great Hit: 5 StarsI bought the album from the 1995 show before I went to the play in November and it can't compare to the newer version. I was hoping that they would record this play and have it on CD and my dream came true.

Free Music Review: magnifique ! Hit: 5 Starscette nouvelle version de "company" est ? tomber par terre... elle renouvelle totalement la version originale...
une merveille... dire que cette production se joue actuellement sur broadway... la vie est injuste.
Free Music Review: Buy This for Raul Hit: 4 StarsNo this doesn't have the full orchestrations of the original Broadway cast album but the new orchestrations for a chamber orchestra are fine. I think this is a very good recording of the show and it's impressive that the cast not only sings but plays their own instruments. This is an energetic recording and it's exciting to hear the Sondheim score once more.
But the ultimate reason to own this recording of Company is Raul Esparza. I've seen several productions of the show (including the OBC) and he is the best Bobby I've ever seen. His versions of Marry Me a Little and Being Alive may bring him a Tony award this year.
