Free Music Notes for Concert for George

Free Music Review: EXQUISITE
Hit: 5 Stars

George set me on a path when I was a brat, trying to figure things out. What an exquisite appreciation, from his profane to his holy to his rock and roll!
I'm still on the path, gentle, silly, forgiving, celebratory....
As the Dalai Lama said, "My religion is Kindness".
Thank you, George, again and again and again!

Free Music Review: Superb concert with total love and emotion!
Hit: 5 Stars

This concert, is moving. You can see and hear for yourself the total love and emotion all the musicians and audience were givin to the memory and music of George Harrison. I was particulary moved by Eric Clapton playing and singing Something, Paul McCartney singing All Things Must Pass and the late great Billy Preston doing It isnt a Pitty and My Sweet Lord. You can feel Eric Clapton s' playing with absolute emotion and passion on this concert. The songs were all very well chosen but with some strange omitions such as Your Love is Forever or What is Life among many other great George Harrison songs. I recomend you to get the cd and also de DVD.

Free Music Review: Concert for George
Hit: 5 Stars

An absolute masterpiece of music performed by some of the best musicians of today. A band so tight that the Harrison songs were played just about note for note. Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton's version of "Something" is powerful. Nobody can sing George's spiritual songs better than Billy Preston and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are fabulous. Ringo is...well...Ringo. A must for any Harrison fan. 5+++++ Stars

Free Music Review: George was there (in spirit)
Hit: 5 Stars

Love this CD. This is without doubt the best tribute concert I have ever seen/heard. The music was flawless. The whole DVD / CD is worth buying just to watch/listen to Eric Clapton do "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". The man is truly amazing. The only disappointment at all to me was that "Horse to the Water" performed by Sam Brown was not included on the CD. Anyone, even those that are not devout Beatles fans will enjoy this CD. I have just about worn it out I've listened so many times.

Free Music Review: An outstanding tribute
Hit: 5 Stars

Eric Clapton being a long time friend of George's found it necessary to pay a tribute to his friend.
Clapton invited Harrisons' close friends and musicians who had recorded with him over the years.
Clapton and the band took the time to work the songs out and make it sound right.
Tom Petty does a great version of I Need You from the movie Help. He also does almost a note for note version of Taxman from Revolver with Mike Campbell adding a very nice solo.
Billy Preston shares the vocals on Isnt it a Pity, and Preston also does a very strong version of My Sweet Lord as well.
Tom Petty also pays tribute to his Traveling Wilbury bandmate with Handle Me With Care.
McCartney also does a nice ukelele version of Something which turns into the electric version we have all come to know and love.
Paul Also does a version of All Things Must Pass that is extraordinary. Clapton and McCartney also do a killer version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps as they sing harmony on the chorus.
Ringo Starr steps in to do Photograph which was a song he and George wrote together.
Jeff Lynne does a great version of The Inner Light with Ravi Shankar's daughter adding sitar.
This is an outstanding tribute to George Harrison and in many ways gives closure to his death.
The only problem with the concert is that George is not alive to sing the songs himself.
This is a must for any Beatles fan and a must for any Harrison fan
