Free Music Review: Truly Wonderful
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD is great. However, I only have one negative thing to say, one of the best performances on the DVD was left off the CD, which is the, "Horse to Water", track by Sam Brown. I realize there is only so much room, but this really should have been included, she is a great performer. This CD is truly exceptional. It is a wonderful tribute to George Harrison's brilliant work, played by a fabulous band of his friends. While I do like the Indian music, I am glad they put it on a seperate disc. This is a terrific piece of work by many talented artists, and everyone should own it.

Free Music Review: Best Concert Ever!
Hit: 5 Stars

What a wonderful, emotional, f****** great concert and tribute to George. I have both the DVD and CD. Can't stop listening to it. It's hard to pick a favorite song, but "My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "Horse To Water" are my favorites, next is "Something" by Paul. I am really disappointed that Sam Brown's "Horse To Water" didn't make it to the CD. She was the best, and I'm a new fan! I'm waiting for someone to offer "Horse to Water" from the concert as a download for those of us wanting it on a CD. Olivia and Dhani please release it on CD for us.

Free Music Review: What happened to Horse to Water?
Hit: 5 Stars

Like several other reviewers, I was disappointed and perplexed that the smoking version of "Horse to Water" done by Sam Brown and the Jools Hooland Band was left off this CD. Sam, and her father Joe, almost stole the show from the more famous and celebrated stars at this amazing event. That said, there were some outstanding performances.

The only thing I was a bit disappointed by in the concert itself, was the fact that almost every song performed was from George's career with the Beatles or from his first album, All Things Must Pass. George had 9 other albums after ATMP, almost none of which were represented. I realize that everyone wanted to play the big hits and audience pleasers, but to almost ignore some of the brilliant material George recorded during the 31 years between ATMP and his death, was disappointing.

Ironically, some of the most memorable performances were the few post-ATMP songs done at this event. I thought the absolute highlight was Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne doing Handle With Care. Lynne did a more than commendable job filling very big shoes in performing the Roy Orbison parts of this song. The other 2 best performances were the already mentioned Horse to Water, and Joe Brown's version of That's the Way It Goes, which is an underrated Harrison Gem. Lastly, Lynne did a good take on Given Me Love/Peace on Earth

I guess it's understandable that not all of Harrison's stellar career could be represented in one concert. However, I would have liked to see it tried!

Overall, a great concert and fitting tribute to an incredible artist.

Free Music Review: Hauntingly beautiful
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a concert that will absolutely break your heart and move you if you love George Harrison or the Beatles. It is lovingly produced and as emotional as anything I have ever heard relating to any of the Beatles. I've listened to it many times and still am not weary of it, and I doubt any of you will be.

There are so many wonderfully poignant moments, Clapton singing "If I Needed Someone," Joe Brown singing "Here Comes The Sun," etc. When McCartney is singing "For You Blue" it is marvelous.

Clapton is magnificent and understated. He plays lead guitar only once throughout the entire concert, and that is appropriately on "White My Guitar Gently Weeps." He sings lead on a few Beatles tracks, but lays back most of the concert, careful not to overshadow the moment or the memory. Jeff Lynne also does a fine job. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers sing "Taxman" and "I Need You," but one wishes Eric would have taken over both those songs.

The applause when Ringo appears is deafening and the infectious way he sings "Photograph" and "Honey Don't" will have you clapping your hands and smiling all over. It must be impossible not to adore Ringo.

And what about Paul? He took so much needless criticism for his appearence here. Many discussions and reviewers claimed he was petulant that Clapton overshadowed him, that his applause wasn't as loud as Ringo's and countless other nit-pickings. I've watched Paul all my life and rarely have I seen him as moved, teary-eyed and emotional as he was this evening. He packed his ego away and did George and the fans proud. Watch Paul as he strums the ukelele while singing "Something." It's obvious he is struggling not to break down and cry. Clapton later said "Paul was never close to George," but Eric is wrong. From 1957-1967 they were very close and Paul knows this. The scenes with Paul are my favorites, he acquits himself beautifully. His version of "All Things Must Pass" is absolutely brilliant.

While no fan of Ravi's music, even this Indian segments are moving and move along at a rapid clip. Another highlight is Billy Preston belting out the second chorus of one of George's masterpieces, "Isn't it a Pity."

I can's say enough superlatives about this album. All George and Beatles fans will cherish this concert.
