Free Music Review: Wonderful debut from European acoustic-pop artist.
Hit: 5 Stars

I first heard Conchita's "Encaja mi corazon" on an online radio station a while back while browsing through music from Europe. I immediately stopped what I was doing and looked to see who this singer was who seemed to captivate me in the song with a few words. Although Conchita doesn't have the greatest range, her breathy voice is almost child-like in its sincerity . Conchita's debut album is best described as a folksy, acoustic-pop album. The lyrics in each song express every stage of a relationship, with interesting, captivating, quirky lyrics. "tonta", one of the clear-cut best songs off the album, is an attempt by the artist to make light of a relationship gone sour. In the lyrics she addresses the ex in the song, who left her for another woman, by telling him "I hope she's stupid. really stupid. And ugly." in an almost joking manner. Another song off the album, "Tres segundos" is what many people go through, going through that moment when you have a crush and not knowing whether to approach them or not, literally going through those "three seconds (translation of the title)" to think about it. In "Tres segundos (three seconds)", Conchita writes the motions one goes through in those three seconds. "Algo bonito", my favorite song off the album, is a beautifully written song about, in my opinion, trying to write a "goodbye" letter to a love in which the singer never had. Overall, a must-have album for anyone wanting to listen to one of the best, and most underrated, musicians from Europe.

Highlights off the album include: "Tres segundos", "Nada que perder", "Algo bonito", "Encaja mi corazon", and "Tonta".

Hit: 5 Stars

This CD is great. When I first listened to it I was on an Excursion in Malaga, Spain and instead of having an amazing time my rocky relationship was coming to its peak. The CD played practically all the stages of our relationship. Conchita expresses what cycles of life we all go through. It's excellent.
