This cd is very unusual. It is one of those few extraordinary collections of music that doesn't really sound decent as music, but is incredible as a piece of art. Only the original version of Conquest has the slightest hint of a chorus or melody or any generally accepted song structure, but each track tells such an excellent story that you look past the unsteady vocals and unsugared sounds to find a true emotion and real power. Truly raw, this cd is not for someone looking for manufactured, made-for-radio music. It is made for Jack and Meg White, and for every person who wants a little more from their music than "La la la".
