Just got my CD from Amazon and I am totally shocked at how great it is! Considering I never liked Constantine when he was a part of American Idol, it is hard to believe his album is now one of my favorites. I found him arrogant and not very entertaining on television and not all that talented. I'll be the first to admit when I'm wrong and I was wrong, definitely. I feel like this album could be the next big album if it would get the publicity it deserves. It has the rock, the amazing vocals and you can relate to the lyrics. I love every song and am so glad people took the time to write reviews because it was those reviews combined with the song samples that made me buy it in the first place.Free Music Review: This guy can sing!

This album is so good. Constantine has a great voice and he uses it. The songs are really good. I really like the balance of music to voice. You can hear him. He is not overpowered by the music. Excellent.Free Music Review: What a voice!

Free Music Review: 3-1/2 stars -- Self-parody?

The reason why I ask if Mr. Maroulis is ridiculing himself on his self-titled album is because the album was released on an imprint called 6th Place Records. Anyway, I had a feeling that he wouldn't win on American Idol not because he isn't good, but because I just couldn't picture people going down the street saying, "Hey, did you pick up the new album from Constantine?" But his self-titled album IS pretty decent.
The thing is, though, while there are very few fast-forwardable moments, nothing really jumps out at you either. To be honest, this sounds just like Taylor Hicks' album. The only things I truly notice on here are negative things, like the way he tends to drag out notes sometimes, like in "So Long" and especially the chorus to "Sister, Sister". And anyone that calls "I Thought It Was Something" a great song has obviously never heard Jet's "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" because it uses the exact same music (including the hand claps).
Constantine's album is far from garbage but it's really best enjoyed by Idol enthusiasts (like most of these other reviewers seem to be), so if you're not one, B.I.F.
