Free Music Review: Sleepy Music - A Little Tamer Than I Expected

Corinne Bailey Rae has a gorgeous voice. However, she needs to find songs that are a little more varied - after the third song, the rest of the album sounded the same. Her voice is exquisite. What this artist needs is better songs written just for her voice and style.
I look forward to hearing her new album when it comes out.

I bought this album some time ago after hearing her on I believe VH1 Soul and she had this delectably soft voice that just mezmerized me when I heard "Like A Star". The album it self is nothing like most of today's R&B and really reminds you more of a jazz album. I was hoping she would really take off but she still did reasonably well. I know a re-released version of the album exist but most of the extra tracks really felt tacked on so, I definitely recommend giving this album a listen because it is a great companion to a dinner party or a relaxing evening at home. Corinne's debut really is that soft, sweet, heartfelt music making the industry is truly lacking today.Free Music Review: Amazing voice, great music, a little repetitive

Corinne has a wonderful voice and a low key but emotive delivery. I really liked this album when I first started listening to it, but the songs are all a bit similar and by halfway thru I was getting a little restless. It would be great material to include on a mix tape (I really am impressed by her voice and style) but listening to the whole album in one shot gets a little monotonous. Sorry Corinne, please keep with it, you have the voice of an angel. A very sexy sounding angel, but an angel none the less.Free Music Review: Grammy Nominee...

This being Bailey Rae's first album, "Put Your Records On" was nominated for Best Song and Best Record Grammy of 2006, as well as the album garnering Bailey Rae's nomination for 2006 Best New Artist. For some reason that I don't quite understand, the single "Like a Star" was also nominated for a Grammy in 2008 - even though it was part of the 2006 album. Both of these songs and the album did well in the charts as well as in other award shows in American and England.
Corinne's voice is like a gentle, warm breeze in the world of jazz/soul/r&b music - very easy to listen to.
It being included for a daily special of $1.99 in Dec 2009 is probably partially to awaken interest in her second album coming in Feb 2010.
I heartily recommend it.

Listen to it and decide for yourself... Music is in the ear of the beholder... It is what our maker gave to us to enjoy on this earth. To me, this is a good representation of the beauty of music.
