Free Music Notes for Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings (Eco)Free Music Review: HOT & SOULFUL ~BRAVO ADAM & CO.!!! Hit: 5 Stars
"SATURDAY NIGHTS & SUNDAY MORNINGS" is an amazing collection of richly varied soulful & fascinating songs featuring kaleidoscopic arrangements that cook with involved soulful lead vocals from Adam Duritz...something of a fluke & rarity in these barren musically bleak times with not much around with such conviction and drive as this stunning set. Great musical sixties legendary rock & soulful sounds spoiled many of us music loving baby-boomers who find current groups dull and as a result could have missed this engrossing work but recent Crow live spots on the tube have been compelling and riveting leading to the seeking out this latest winner...best way to enjoy & appreciate this great musical treasure chest of a wondrous mixture of mesmerizing classics is to just sit down with lyrics and go for this decades amazing & magical musical ride...awesome collection from the best around today is a solid rock & soul classic...Bravo Counting Crows!!!
Free Music Review: Counting Crows Creates a Masterpiece Hit: 5 Stars
Counting Crows fifth studio album is their best effort in over a decade and possibly their best work ever. Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings is a concept album that works to perfection.
Saturday Nights is the first half of the album and represents those long Saturday nights spent drinking, looking for love, and more importantly, yourself. Saturday nights is represented by electric guitar riffs, fast paced melodies, and sometimes angry lyrics.
Sunday Mornings represents that feeling you have after being out all night partying and wake up alone, hungover and disconnected. Sunday Mornings is portrayed by beautiful acoustic songs embedded with deep emotional undertones and thought-provoking lyrics.
My favorite songs are Hanging Tree, Sundays, Insignificant, Cowboys, Washington Square, When I Dream of Michelangelo, and La ballet d'or.
Free Music Review: This is a good disc from the Counting Crows Hit: 5 Stars
This is a very good album from the Counting Crows. My favorite track is "Cowboys". This song rocks. I love the electric guitar playing on this track. "1492" is a song about living life on the edge. I don't get the significance of the title, but I like the sound of this track very much. It has a great beat. "You Can't Count On Me" is the lead single. I like the honesty in Adam's voice on this track. This song is about being honest about a person's faults. "When I Dream Of Michaelangelo" is a very pretty song. "Los Angeles" is a commentary song about living in the big city. "Insiginificant" is an excellent song. Adam's voice is so expressive. This is a song about how anybody can feel small. "Washington Square" is a song about the emotional process of moving. I like the harmonica and piano playing on this track. I really enjoyed listening to this disc.
Free Music Review: I can't believe... Hit: 5 Stars
I can't believe how many mediocre reviews there are for this album. Is it as good as some of their other efforts? No, but did you really expect it to be? This is the problem I have, is that everyone thinks of the Counting Crows, thinks of their big break-out albums, and automatically writes off anything new as "not as good". It's not as good, but if any other band released this album I'm sure it would have far fewer mediocre reviews. Stop living in the past and judge this album on its own merits and less on what the Crows have done in the past, and I think you'll find this album is very enjoyable.
I have. I love this album; it combines my favorite aspects of the crows: the anger exhibited on Recovering the Satellites with the melancholiness of This Desert Life.
5/5 for sure.
Free Music Review: Crows outdid themselves Hit: 5 Stars
This album was so good that i actually felt the need to click on the "review this album" link.
Adam Duritz' lyrics are as moving, beautiful and passionate as ever. Every instrument, or sound for that matter, is right on point w/ the feeling of every song. There are some really amazing musicians in this band.
"Los Angeles is just a great, fun, rock 'n' roll song, w/ an awesome "bluesy" guitar. "Cowboys" is lyrical genius. "Washington Sq" & "Anyone But You" are a couple of my fav.'s off the Sunday side of the album.
The album progresses as sort of a story from "1492" to "Come Around".
Just listen to it for yourself. You won't be dissapointed w/ this album.
