Free Music Notes for The Trinity Session

Free Music Review: modern classic. full stop.
Hit: 5 Stars

ok so how many times could you listen to misguided angel? ten years later and i still get goosebumps. that voice. that song. big goosebumps. i really was never able to get into much of what the band did after this album, but this is simply magnificent. i have a hard time getting between the sweet dreamy sound of ms timmins and the idea of junk, but that's another thing that makes it all so interesting.

Free Music Review: Sensuous, subtle and kind-to-the-ears. Unique vocals.
Hit: 5 Stars

I bought this as a tape several years ago after hearing it at a friend's in New York. I was intrigued by the unusual "studio"--a church--which lends particular qualities to the vocals and enhances the somewhat mystical effect of the songs. Some old, some new--all excellently performed. I highly recommend this for those of eclectic taste. Of all the Cowboy Junkies' albums, this is my favorite!

Free Music Review: Beautiful and Original!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

The Trinity Session is a CD you must buy!! The songs are enchanting and the lyrics are full of meaning. It is an unusual style, but it is a great break from the usual sounds of songs today. I especially like the songs "sweet jane" and "misguided angel". The songs are sung with feeling and they are so beautiful. I can listen to this CD again and again and never get bored.

Free Music Review: Junkies Rule!
Hit: 5 Stars

I am a relatively new Junkies fan having first heard Sweet Jane on an alternative station. From that one song I purchased the CD and absolutely adore it! Sultry is the perfect word to describe it, Margo's voice just washes over you and the music is so calming, goes great with a gin and tonic on a Friday evening after a long week...I also recommend "Lay it Down" - excellent.

Free Music Review: The Cowboy Blues
Hit: 5 Stars

Cowboy Junkies never got better than "The Trinity Session." "Blue Moon Revisted" is liquid, languid, with just enough ice to make it cool -- like whiskey on the rocks. Their rendition of Hank Williams's "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" is so plaintive and mournful it breaks your heart. Their cover of Lou Reed's "Sweet Jane" is practically as good as the original. Heck, it's better.
