Free Music Notes for The Trinity Session

Free Music Review: solid gold
Hit: 5 Stars

This is one solid recording. The Trinity Session is worthy of being called an audiophile's delight. The sonics are fabulous, and the music ain't bad either! Margo Timmins voice is haunting. Whoever recorded this disc knew what they were doing. This should be manditory listening for engineers. [Those that aren't already deaf.] I'd be hard pressed to pick a favourite track, they are all great. "Blue Moon, Song for Elvis, and I'm so lonesome I could cry," come to mind. While I love, Mott the Hoople's "Sweet Jane". The Junkies give it a new lease on life. I know Lou Reed wrote it, never been a big fan of his style, with the exception of "walk on the Wild Side. Okay, I'll admit his version isn't too bad, but The Junkies do it so well.

Free Music Review: The holy "Trinity Session".
Hit: 5 Stars

Cowboy Junkies might not be one of my ten most favorite bands, but this is easily one of my ten favorite albums. I'm a big fan of their others as well, but this one is as perfect as it is consistent. "The Trinity Session" is such a mood setter. I remember seeing the video for "Sweet Jane" on Mtv (yes Mtv), and since that day in 1988 I have listened to this album at least monthly. It's a record you just put on and feel, a record you simply stare out the window with, and an excellent record to fall asleep to. "Misguided Angel" and "Blue Moon Revisited (song for Elvis) were also minor hits, but every other track is as pleasing. One of their collections would also be a good choice, but there's a reason I have "The Trinity Session" on CD, cassette, and vinyl.

Free Music Review: A must own CD
Hit: 5 Stars

I have owned over 10 copies of this CD. People "borrow" them and I never see it again. As much as I like the Cowboy Junkies, I must say that this is not a typical CD for them. This was lightning in a bottle. When you hear their rendition of Blue Moon, you'll never think of the song the same way again. They add a sex appeal to both Blue Moon and Lou Reed's Sweet Jane. And to hear Margo Timmons do a Hank Williams song is pure magic.

This is a CD that really shines on a good stereo. It's one of my favorite recordings. If you have high quality audio equitment, you should own this CD to show off to your friends. If you listen very closly, you can hear the air vent in the building the recorded it in. That's how clear this recording is.

Free Music Review: Been Searching a Long Time
Hit: 5 Stars

If asked, I would have guessed the Cowboy Junkies to be another punk band from the 90's. So glad to be doing the CDNOW search thing and find this group. Unlike 1976 Its not easy for old guys like me to find good "new" music. God knows its not on the radio anymore. Everything about Trinity Session is great. The sound quality is 5 star, same for the mood and sparse instrumentation. The original and cover songs are all amazing, heck even my wife likes it! This could be what Karen Carpenter and Jimi Hendrix would be doing together today if we were lucky enough to still have them here. If you love a terrific female lead singer get this album. The moods here remind me of the best Van Morrison albums or Pink Floyd. I highly reccomend this to all.

first of all, moron, the band in question is Canadian. NOT American- so you empty cant about how American groups are derivative and British bands 'one-up' the artistic spectrum, are a tad out of place. Besides, outside of Manchester (78- 84) Britisg groups are junk. You cats are just miffed cuz you lst your emppire and now we run te world better than you did. Go home and stick your head in a grave. I'll let youknow if we need some more Brits (like you) upon whom we can test our Patriot missile systems. Oops.
