Free Music Notes for Crazy BeautifulFree Music Review: Lives up to the title Hit: 4 Stars
I couldn't disagree more with the official Amazon review. I think this was a great soundtrack, complete with crazy and beautiful songs mingled together. I'm glad this wasn't a typical teen album filled with big-named pop artists because this wasn't a typical teen movie. I saw this movie when I was a teenager, but what grabbed my attention more was the soundtrack. It was refreshing to have a teen movie that dealt with real issues, and didn't just assume we're all a bunch of morons who can't wait until the prom. As with the music, it didn't force feed us with another typical soundtrack filled with cliches. Everytime I pop in this soundtrack, it takes me back to the time I first got my car, going for joyrides to these songs. Not only does it hold some nostalgic value (not just another disposable album of "fad bands"), but it's nice to know some filmmakers and a great music supervisor didn't succumb to dumbed-down Hollywood marketing.
Free Music Review: Way to tired to Title! Hit: 4 Stars
...But I really like this movie, funny as I'm not really a fun of Dunst but I enjoyed this performance muchly, I wished she'd do more indie stuff like this. I also enjoyed the soundtrack, although I thought Daivd Gray's 'This Years Love' was a bit too predictable, I guess it was the song of the moment back then but I didn't think if suited the mood of the film, or the rest of the ST as these are very much, at least seemed to me to be, lesser known & underground artists. But then maybe that's a mute point as now I see it's omitted from the CD which is good I think. Oh, and Deanna, the song ur after is Collective Soul & 'Blender' I think. Funny I was watching the film at the exact mo I read ur review, during that scene/song, freaky! And so I thought I just gotta reply, I normally don't bother as I'm dog lazy!!!
Free Music Review: A lot more thoughtful than most soundtracks now Hit: 4 Stars
I bought this CD because it sounded different. I hadn't seen the movie yet, but the samples of the soundtrack I'd heard sounded like it could add a little diversity into my CD collection. I love this CD. I hadn't heard of nearly any of the artists, but most of them are awesome. I got the gist of the movie just from listening to the songs. This impressed me because a lot of times now, soundtracks are made up of songs of the moment, like, just throw them in because they're on TRL right now. But the soundtrcak to Crazy/Beautiful seemed much more thoughtful, the lyrics of the songs highly reflective of the movie itself. I would definitly recommend this CD to anyone looking for something a little different, with a lot of variation in moods and sound.
Free Music Review: Haven't Even Seen the Movie Hit: 4 Stars
I haven't even seen the movie, but I noticed the music on the previews and so I came to amazon.com to check out the tracks. I downloaded them all and burnt them on a cd. I love this CD. Whoever said that the reason they picked this music is because it "relates to teens" is right. When I am in the car and hearing these songs I feel totally connected to the music and empowered by their impact. It's like when you hear a song you totally love and you think this song was written for you because it says everything you are feeling. And to the girl wondering about the song, if you would LISTEN TO THE CD you would find out that the song is number ten: Sumpin' by The Pimps. Definitly buy this cd.
Free Music Review: My song's not on the CD! Who's the artist??? Hit: 4 Stars
First of all, I think Crazy/Beautiful was one of the greatest love stories I've ever seen. I just love the movie, and think it's the greatest. However, I've searched all over the internet, and I couldn't find the song that is played when Nicole and Carlos are together and all happy and they're kissing in school and hanging out and having fun. It's the scene right after they make love for the first time where they show them making out in school and goofing around in the darkroom, and sitting on a blanket outside. I really love this song, so if anyone could please just give me a hint of some of the lyrics, or even better, the artist or title, that would be great! Thanks so much!
